You just described the situation 100 percent!! Out of all the comments here, you are the only one exactly captured the situation. I just wonder in amazement why some people descend into tribalistic attacks while there is fire on the mountain

One survivors account I read said one of his Fulani captors told him he won’t stop the business until he has 100m in his bank account. It’s really a sad situation

bendike:

100% of survivors of attacks and kidnappings on the shagamu-benin, gbogon-oshogbo, kaduna-abuja roads have testified that it was armed Fulani that attacked them. The oau lecturer attacked recently said it was Fulani. There is no point being politically correct. This issue is getting out of hand and if it is not stopped now it will be too late in few months.
My reason for saying this is that these herdsmen have started tasting millions from kidnapping and they are seeing that it is more profitable than rearing cows. It has gotten to the stage the kidnap in "bulk". 30-40 people at once! The more the merrier. They will inform their colleagues all over Africa that southern Nigeria is a land flowing with "milk and honey" and more will come as we are soft targets to the herdsmen since we do not have a culture of violence over here.

We can never be United and Nigeria will never experience any major progress with the present arrangements.

Dunno how old you are, but if you have been around for some time, you would know without been told that the system can simply not work as unfairly constituted.

It's not enough to have small change in your pocket to buy garri even though it's expensive.

Nepotism, tribalism and corruption have COMPLETELY eaten any sign of unity and progress and that's irreparable.

Instead of shaking inside your boots about people fanning the embers of hatred and war, take lead and ask for true federalism! Except if you are a fulani anyways.
I wont bother about your comments questioning my tribe, age and my ability to buy garri or otherwise cos you dont know me. However, there are responsible and constitutional ways to demand true federalism/restructuring if that is what you really want, but divisive and inciting statements capable of destabilizing the polity is certainly not part of it.

So sad, may her soul rest in peace.

However from the eye witness account of her driver, there was nothing to even suggest that the attack was done by any Fulani herdsmen.

It makes any thinker wonder if we just started having masked armed robbers on our highways. Did they all suddenly repent at once? Or did they go on holiday? Let us use our brains for goodness sake.

We should be careful in labeling every killing in the south to herdsmen because not only does it mean we cannot find the true killers as we are pointing in the wrong direction, but we are also dancing to the tune of enemies of this country who seem to want a war between Yoruba and the North for their selfish and wicked interests.

Masked robbery was unheard of in the heydays of highway robbery, I pray she and her loved ones she left behind find comfort

For sometimes now, headlines have been bordering on
Book Haram
Fulani herdsmen
Zed Regina Daniel
COZA
RUGA
BBNaija
Tribunal

The common letter to them is A
No wonder Buhari has it, Atiku has it even Abacha and Musa Yaradua.

Till we renounce our love for letter A, then we begin to enjoy this country.

... The Driver said Mask men come out from the Bush and shot at them. And the likes of ipob pigs, Fani kayode and Reno already said it was Fulani herds men.

In as much as I don't support the killings we should stop spreading hate. The politicians are using '' divide and rule strategy '' on us through ethnicity and religion until we go beyond that Nigeria will never be a better Country.

Even if the entire country divides we'll still be divided amongst us because we've seen it as a way of life.

Until we're United we can't choose a rightful leader based on merit we'll continue to suffer until we've sense and stand against the Elites who are the real Enemy.
Your point is not clear. Are you implying that herdsmen cannot use masks or what?

Exactly, herdsmen weren't mentioned by the witness, only arm welding masked men. yet social media is agog with news of herdsmen killing a Yoruba leader's daughter.

unless the driver is failing to mention something ....

[1 undecided author=Seventy7kings post=80244809]People who blame herdsmen for everything are part of current problems in Nigeria.
The driver said they were 'masked gunmen', some people that were not even there have already jumped into conclusion that they were 'herdsmen'.
Enemies of state will surely use this opportunity to commit their evil acts since they know that herdsmen will be blamed for all killings anyway.
BTW, my advice to those who will not use their brain to reason and attack me is that, the solution to the problems or grudges you have against the north is not blaming herdsmen for every killing, rather it will only worsen the situation.
We've already been scammed by Mr Buhari, let's not caomplicate our already complicated issue.[/quote]

He confirmed that, “President Muhammadu Buhari has called to commiserate with me. But all I need from the president is to find solutions to these killings in the country.”

Very unfortunate that these are the si called 'leaders' we have today

Asking this of the tyrant like many have been doing to no avail, even in the face of your daughter's killing, to me sir with all possible respect and honor is unacceptable.

It's like asking a lion to safeguard a goat.

A practical approach is absolutely necessary and must be implemented. A parlance says when the going gets tough, the toughs get going.

This murderous act is enough for a call for the total annihilation of anyone who looks like Fula from the Yoruba land completely and the South wholesomely. A guest is only welcome to a place is of good behavior. Not to talk of uninvited murderous killers.

What is wrong with all you so called 'leaders'? What is wrong with Nigeria and youths today?
Why are they so fearing, gutless and wimpy?
Why are they all so immersed and consumed by the wheelbarrow syndrome and mentality?
FEAR.
This fear unchecked and reverted will soon be the downfall of the South of the Niger and Benue.

No sir, instruct and command your people to action. This makes a true leader, not simply by title.

President Bush with the 9/11 attacks didn't ask Muslim nations to check the invasion. He with the USA immediately took the war to back to them murderous killing bloody scoundrels. No repeat of such in 18years. It's the mess with me, i Bleep you up mindset.
That's how to do it sir to the Fulas.
That's leadership.

If I had my way sir, I'll BAN Islam from South of the Niger and Benue.

Bo le ya ko ya.
Ojo kin pa ewe ikoko.

Now let's get something clear here. The herders as you see them have foot soldiers. While the others lead the herds their escorts go unseen with their weapons. By the way who are the people killing and kidnapping people in zamfara and katsina? Are they also armed robbers? My in law almost died in the hands of this wicked people in 2009 on the long bridge along Lagos Ibadan expressway. Thank God he escaped
