Can u imagine the bag of stones they kept in the post called Nigeria keeper, to rigid and lacks self confidence causing all sort of blunders. shocked

The keeper is not to be blame. The guys only covered one side. Later create opening by spreading...the Algerian guy seized that and get his country a goal.

What do u have to say about Ighalo?

The team has deficiency..... From qualifiers to the semi final stage...

Algeria deserve to win... Luck is not a game but a dame.

I am surprised at many Nigerians sha... They seem to watch back of TV like we used to say as kids.

Compare our team to that of Algeria and you'd see a massive gap. The Algerians were more tactically astute and surprisingly fitter. The Cameroonian team and South African team were a lot poorer and that was why we had any chance against them.

I have been saying this:

Genot Rorh plays an obsolete brand of football.

In this modern age hardly do you see teams withdrawing into their own half of the pitch when the opposition defenders are bringing it forward. You have to PRESS the defenders and block every expected passing option. Pep Guardiola made this "modern tactics" popular. And many teams use it now.

Madagascar used it against us and we saw the result.

Today, the Algerians did the same thing.

Since the first day of the tournament I watched out football and was immediately unimpressed. Even against Burundi we were playing this kind of obsolete football.

They play like this waiting to counter without any meaningful passing triangles. Once the opposition score, they get out of their shell and start to press. Then once they get a goal, they sit back and start to invite pressure again.

We need a coach that is up to date with modern football... And more importantly can blend our team together as a unit.

I hope Senegal now go ahead and do West Africa proud come Friday
I don't get. What did he make. Or he your shabbish goalie, or ur corrupt scouts who can scout good players all because of money? Should incase you don't know, this is called german football.

Thunder fire Ighalo, in this kind of match you need to be putting pressure by marking their defenders well just like they did to us, but Ighalo chooses to just stand without marking the ball. So why won't dey press us.

We've never had a good defense for decades now

They need to bench Ighalo.... That's woefull performance from a player... I can't called Ighalo a striker... He just make me remember Obinna Nsofor speed of attack.

Awuraizem is another poor player with woefull performance.

When the attackers (Striker, Wingers, Supporting Striker, Midfielder are not performing.... The workload will create imbalance on the defenders...

The couch did OK with the material he has to be fair.

No matter your tactics, you need good players to interprete it for you. The way a debruyn will interpreted a central midfield role, is not the same way bakayoko would.

The way a Messi will interpreted a wing position, is not the same way Musa would. The couch did well with the structure. But the players themselves were appalling.

In the end it came down to that one fact. Quality players. One strike from mahrez and we were done for.

If it was us getting it round the wall or hitting the target would be near impossible. Kudos to Algeria they did well.

I beg to differ on your assertion that he did okay with the material he has. First, Rohr was responsible for the selection of these players. Being a parochial and an inordinately conservative coach, he decided not to shake things up after the world cup. Remember that there's a kelechi Nwakali who could have, like Chukwueze, been a revelation playing behind the top striker at Afcon 2019. Need I also mention Taiwo Awoniyi who, in my opinion, is technically better than Ighalo. Rohr fixation on a certain crop of players smacks of one who seems to be 'benefiting' from this arrangement.

Our midfield was overwhelmed,I was expecting him to switch to a 3-5-2 formation. He doesn't read games,we have far better managers than him,if not for the issue of bribery that our local coaches are known for .

Your analysis is spot on. I'm of the opinion that this is the only system that will work for these crop of Super Eagles players until we get players in the mould of our US 94 squad.

I don't know y fans are blaming the goalie... He dint cause any of the goals he conceeded In the tournament... The defence was in shambles all thru the tournament... The first was an own goal the second, a sublime free kick... Y dint enyeama that u guys are praising save messis free kick in 2014... I blame the coach for taking off chukwueze, believe me, he was Algeria's fear... And ndidi is always very clumsy Infront of the box... How can u foul a player at that spot knowing that there is a marez in the team... A player that was once ur teammate, a player that u know his capabilities

Let's call a spade a spade and stop being too sentimental. Algerian team was more committed and skillful. Don't forget they had their own chances which they threw away and made errors too. Their chances missed were more than ours. In a nutshell, the better side won and I see them lifting the trophy because Senegal can't outclass them, they are unstoppable.

It has nothing to do with the jersey nor chukwueze been sent off. Everyone is prone to making errors. Am sure if chukwueze wasn't pulled out and ended up making an error which ended up conceding a goal, excuses would have still been made. Every team went there with the mindset of lifting the trophy not only the super eagles. Loosing is very painful and very hard to accept in good faith. It has happened it has happened, it's the way forward that really matters. Excuses and complaints won't call for a rematch. Gbam!!!

Why didn't he set himself and his crib on fire too? The people who lost that made him go insane are probably lounging in their five star hotel rooms after their three course sumptuous meal and of course with their bank accounts credited with their match bonuses which will soon include other inflows from promises made by dangote and co. I just can't phantom why people subject themselves to madness and unhappiness over a game which if lost should be taken in good faith. Baffling!

Ten minutes of watching the march, I concluded that we weren't going to win.

Like somebody said, passes happen in triangles and our team didn't have them.

While Algeria was sending directed long passes up front, our players made sure everyone in the back and midfield touched the ball before going forward.

In the first half, individual players held onto the ball for too long before passing it.

When a team plays with no sense of urgency, it is bound to lose. Even after the equalizer, we should have upped the pressure and win outright. However, it appeared our team was hoping for the extra 30 minutes.
See where it got us/them.

Senegal cannot win AfCON, bros have u been following this tournament? Algerian team have scored 12 goals and conceded only 2. They are the most balanced in-form team of the tournament. They could have beaten us like 4-5 goals and that's how they play. They played Senegal to a standstill in the group game even though they won 1-0. The final is going to be very boring cos Senegalese will defend throughout.

I believe our uniform is to blame. it is too dull, you don't expect guys to always put up their heads before they make passes there may be no time for that. For me I think we should use a very bright socks if we wanna continue to use this uniform just to make sure team members can locate themselves easily.
