All Progressives Congress stalwart, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere Chairman, Reuben Fasoranti, was destined to die in such a manner.Tinubu said this while addressing journalists after paying Fasoranti a condolence visit on Sunday. The former governor of Lagos State said no man can change what God has ordained even as he maintained that she could have died in a road accident if she wasn’t shot on her way to Lagos last Friday. He said the tragedy could be converted to an opportunity to improve the state of the country. Tinubu added, “It is a great opportunity to convert this tragedy to prosperity. It has been destined that is the way she would go. You cannot change what is ordained by God. You cannot change it. One way or the other, it can be death by road accident or any other means she will. “It was just a premature death. Funke was very close to me. I have disclosed that. Only five days ago, we had a chat on Whatsapp with one another. I know what she discussed and even about baba’s health condition. So, we just pray that this one will not happen again.” The APC chieftain also rubbished reports linking herdsmen to the murder, adding that it was unfortunate some people were using the tragedy to score cheap political points. The APC leader said crime had no tribal affiliation even as he wondered where “the cows” were when the alleged herdsmen attack took place. Tinubu said, “How many years ago have we faced insecurity in this country and cases of kidnapping? Is Evans who was arrested, and his disclosure, then a herdsman? I don’t want to be political. The question is where are the cows?” The APC national leader, however, admitted that the security challenges in the country must be addressed. He said the herdsmen issues should not be allowed to divide the country. Tinubu said, “I am a nationalist and the security concerns and challenges right now must be faced squarely throughout Nigeria. The incident that affected one member of our family, Mrs Olakunrin, is saddening and unacceptable but nobody can return her alive, she has answered the call of her creator. “We must not use this incident to divide ourselves but we must use it as a cure to the security problem by providing additional police and patrol.” Source: www.punch.ng |

Hope Tinubu will remember that saying when one of his relatives gets killed. It is so annoying that Tinubu can't speak out and condemn what is condemnable What is Tinubu really scared of? What has made him not really condemn the suspected herders that committed the atrocity? 2 Likes |

Tinubu is not helping matters these days with his utterances and dispositions. Somebody should advise him to stop making some people insult Yoruba. He should also not let his own personal interest becloud his sensitivity to issues of national interest and tarnish his image as an elder statesman of repute. Yes, as a father he has also experienced death of a beloved child just as Baba Fasoranti, but he should remember that unlike his own son's case, Mrs. Funke Olakunrin's death was as a result of spate of crime and insecurity in the country, not a natural death ordained by God. Right from the onset, I do not see any correlation between Tinubu and any Hausa/Fulani man (except, may be for business terms) but now I have come to understand that Nigeria politics will make a sheep follow a dog to eat poo. 2 Likes |
