See how a wise man handles retirement. Great grand fathers in the Nigerian educational system will like their graves to be dogged while they are still pretending to be teaching in the classroom.

Just 30 already retiring from the national team. When he still has lot of football years to play. Unless he's not 30. cos average age for retiring from the national team is between 33-36. He can't say because of this Afcon2019, cos he had a wonderful tournament.

Age doesn't matter

Berbatov retired from Bulgaria at age 29

Joaquin stopped playing for Spain at age 25 while is is still playing top flight football at age 37 and has been constitent ,Na just choice my broda

Eventually this might be the reasons

1. Unpaid allowances

2. He want to end it in good shape not like Mikel who ended his career playing badly and fans stated teirt cristicis

3. He wants to give the younger boys the chance to grow up

Just remove number 1 sharply. Ighalo is a big boy.

Nice Decision

He was never appreciate by Nigerians for his effort even when he is the best we have currently. He qualified Nigeria for 2019 Afcon as the highest target man in Africa. Yet we insult him at every slant chance.

He still went on to finish as highest goal scorer in this Afcon yet the fans didn't rally round him.

So it's best he leave with the accomplishment of Afcon golden boot. it will be a solace that he did well for his country irrespective of the attitude of people towards him

Those people you mentioned are isolated cases.
From Obafemi to Yabuku, Moses, Taye Taiwo, Ayila, etc. The average age most Super Eagle players that made their debut with the national team from 2001-2006 left before the age of 31.

If those our grannies with age falsification will be retiring voluntarily like Ighalo in civil service work and politics, the youths will have a better opportunity to move this country forward.
Even the no 1 man that we tried to retire voluntarily last March, still struggled, woggled and mingled to remain in office at a very old age and downward contributions.

Even if dem no leave people go dey insult them say dem don old ,naija football fan mentality

Martins didn't retire from international football ,keshi snubbed him ok

Taiwo didn't retire they stop calling him ,just as our average naija fan will say ,dem don old ,30/31 is not old

Algeria midfielder guedioura was 33 years old and he played all Algeria games in this tournament ,if Na Nigeria dem fit no pick am ,people go don insult am say na championship he dey play and e don old

Serey die was 34 years old during this tournament ,but naija just because mikel didn't do well in the first game dem don dey insult am

Naija need change their mentality

Good choice. .always retire when the ovation is loud. Your nations cup performance compensated for an awful world cup performance.

These Super Eagles read our comments about them on YouTube, NL and Twitter.... They read all the insults we throw at them and thier families.. I salute thier temperament... If it were me I would have retired long ago... Very ungrateful youths online
