You have a good understanding of the matter.

The Husband was first stabbed on Monday on the shoulder.
His Wis stabbed him again the early hours of Tuesday, this time aiming for the jugular artery which cut off blood supply to his brain killing him within minutes.

How is this Man-slaughter?

lekebanks:
From the facts of the crime, motive was clearly a precursor to the offence. A summary of the events which led to her pardon are that:

1) Yewande, a lawyer with the State Ministry of Justice, faced a charge that she stabbed her husband to death on 2 February 2016

2) She reportedly stabbed her 38 year-old husband twice.

3) Oyelowo (husband) died after he was brutally stabbed

4) The first time, she hit the husband on the shoulder, missing his heart by just few inches.

5) When the husband returned from hospital, she attacked him again, this time hitting him fatally on the neck. Oyelowo bled to death.

a) According to family sources, the argument between husband and wife had started over the husband’s proposed business trip to Europe and then to stop over to visit his child (from another woman) who’s also living in Europe with the mother.

b) “Their neighbour-the Landlord intervened in the matter and took Oyelowo to a nearby hospital for treatment as he bled profusely.

c) After treatment he was released to return home and instructed to rest as he had lost a lot of blood. On arriving home, the Landlord’s son offered Lowo his room to pass the night. But he declined the offer stating clearly that ‘all was fine as he trusted his wife and believed she didn’t mean to harm him’.

d) “Few hours later, a shout was heard again: it was the cry of a man in agony. Oyelowo was battling for his life, blood gushing out of his neck and mouth. His wife Yewande had used a knife to stab him once again, unfortunately it was in the neck, a very delicate part of the body. He was whisked to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival”.

6) Charged with murder but convicted of manslaughter and handed a 7 year sentence.

7) Pardoned 3 years later after petition was allegedly written by highly connected family members of hers and under a committee made up of members of her State Ministry of Justice

cool Without prejudice to her pardon, many amongst the 350 cases left unpardoned constitute minor / simple offences worthy of the same prerogative order.

Animal farm's certainly more domesticated than this zoo. Double standard's the name of the game!

Try to join the winning team, if not wetin you gain?

Congratulations to her.

Excuse me ma, when you stab a man in the Shoulder on Monday and he survived but stabbed him again on Tuesday in the neck while sleeping (under the influence of the drugs he received in the hospital few hours earlier) so as to kill him and you lock all the doors to prevent him from seeking help, do you still call this act 'Self-Defence'?

grandstar:

What are the facts of the case. Many abusive men have killed their spouses. Was he the type?

If you daughter was living with such a man, who beats her blue black always and you learnt she killed him in self defense, what would you say?

Do you want your daughter back in a body bag? Most abused spouses hide their abuse from loved ones. I hope you know that because of the shame, powerlessness.and fear.

Was she being abuse? Was the abuse life threatening? Was she trapped? What is the full matter of this case?

The gesture has the word "wrong" written over it.
She didn't pushed her husband and he slumped and died, she killed him with a knife.
Maybe her influential family pushed for the manslaughter case instead of murder.
The Governor is wrong, she doesn't deserve it.

This is where you need Ogun, Sango, Aiyelala and Esu Odara. They settle issues without fear or favour.

Certain!!. Are Female lawyers now turning killers? Cos this isn't the first female lawyer on the news for murder.
Marry one of them and be ready for arguments, including violent ones.

My first sentence was what are the facts of the case? Now that I know it, she is not entitled to any release whatsoever.

If the Constitution be followed, a death sentence should have been meted out. If there was to be a release, maybe a pardon after 20 years.

Remember that Nigerians will interpreted the constitution in a way to suit them. See what is happening in the Edo house of assembly where nine members out of twenty four were inaugurated late in the night and they tell you they formed a quorum and therefore fulfilled the constitional requirement.

You and I know it was a clear case of murder if you had follow her case.

I followed the case, i know its murder but she wasn't convicted for murder but manslaughter which is less punishment than murder.

May God Almighty forgive Ajimobi of his wrong motive while on Earth.

May there was a history of her late husband abusing her violently, and she probably snapped and killed him on that fateful day. That is why she got away lightly.

No one deserved to be abused violently.
