The Nigerian Senate has postponed its annual recess billed to start on Thursday.

This was made known on Tuesday by the Chairman, Senate ad hoc committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye while addressing journalist after plenary.

The two-month holiday was halted to enable lawmakers screen and confirm ministerial nominees sent to the upper legislative chamber by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Meanwhile, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has said the screening and confirmation of the nominees will start tomorrow.

Someone patriotic is now leading the legislature, although perceived to be a rubber stamp of the executive, his further actions will say so or otherwise.

This is a good step in the right direction.
You know a house that are ready to work in the best interests of the nation.

Unlike the last worst senate leader in the history of Nigeria, (Saraki) that goes on silly breaks and recess when it is time to make an important contribution to Nigeria.

Slow and steady we will get to a New Nigeria.
This Senate President is ready to work!

Better days are ahead.
You can say that again!

Better days are ahead.

To achieve greatness as a nation, we don't need a senate that will be antagonistic or always bickering with the executive.

Kudos to the 9th senate.
Saraki must have learned a bitter lesson. grin
You've said it all bro
You are so on our mind!

There is no need for them to postpone their recess as we know they will all scale through, so why not just use two days and ask them to take a bow so that we can get to the next stage.

Last 4 years, didn't they bow and go despite the fact that Saraki went on recess before their screening?

Opposition is different from stupidity

Why didn't the Pdp you worship amend the constitution to provide for part time legislature during their own time?

Just open the 4 compass points of your mouth and be talking nonsense.
