It is fine for him to be on Facebook to tickle the fancy of the Nigerians on Facebook. But the fact is, 80% of the voters are not on Facebook and do not care.

The majority of the Muslim voters in the northern states do not even know if Facebook means anything. They cannot read and write in English and what they know are the faces and logos of the presidential aspirants and their political parties.

Can you GEJ endorsers ignore tribe and vote out PDP for christ's sake?

Even IBB is trying to contest under PDP.  shocked Are you people that daft to understand that PDP is Nigeria's enemy?

I remember that while he was giving his declaration speech that the speech was uploaded to facebook.
Since he obviously was not on the internet while giving his speech it must have been one of his aides.

Re: Goodluck Jonathan: The Facebook President---cnn by alexleo(m): 9:02pm On Oct 15, 2010
those who are against the president's presence on facebook are blind folded with foolishness. A good leader must have a good way on interacting with his people. The responses (both positive and negative) that the president is getting from people on facebook is what he needs to perform better and not the having tea party with corrupt politcians who will just sing his praise with no single person criticizing him. Obasanjo did his own by organising the monthly presidential media chat but this facebook strategy of Jonathan is far better because it has more room to accomodate responses from people. The media chat only had room for the press and few number of callers.

British colonials spent many years in south b4 they moved to north. South did not reject them bcoz they didnt have their standard way of life, but in the north, there had been way life education right from whats known as nursery(islamic and Arabic),trade and administration. When british came all northerners rejected them and fought them seriously. This delayed d capture of the north by colonials, and they realisd that northerners are civilised and they knw who r they. But to d south, they had been exportin slaves already. Amazingly, south learned eng b4 north but they coudnt make any different. Instead, they innovatd exam malpractice. Com 2 north and find out if they can even teach the south Islamic and western education.

British colonials spent many years (if not 100yrs) b4 they came to north. British found south without clothes and have no standard way of life. So when colonials came, they faced no rejection frm south and startd teaching them how they want them to write or read. But when they came to north, they found them with their dress styles(for male and female) with even traditonal textile manufacture. They have their system of education (islamic and arabic) right from whats later known as nursery. They have their way of trade both local and int'l.administration:they knw who they are and civilised. So when colonials masters came to them, they repulsed them seriously. It is after years they captured north. While in south, they had been exporting slaves. Unfortunately, south learnd from british long b4 north, but innovated nothing but exam malpractice. You can come to north and find out if north could teach u both Islamic and western. education.

I personally think Jonathan is trying to cover up his stark inadequacies by pulling that FB stunt. Its all a charade. He needs to save all that postulationss and address the myriads of problems facing Nigeria today.

How many Nigerians are on facebook?? How many Nigerians have access to the internet? Why using Lagos as a yardstick? Mr President missed it on this one.

Re: Goodluck Jonathan: The Facebook President---cnn by samoks(m): 2:08am On Oct 16, 2010
The best way to reach or send his message across to all Nigerians is by providing at least a steady/uninterupted 12hour electricity daily across the country, ensure the security of lives and property, repairing and fixing our roads, reduce unemployment, stop importation of fuel, fix our refineries, pay our secondary and primary school teachers better, lecturers as well, stop the brain drain, make our economy a non-oil depended one, revive our hospitals  and much more, INSTEAD OF MAKING EMPTY PROMISES WE HAVE BEEN HEARING SINCE 1999

If he does the above, instead of spending billions on 01-10-2010,all Nigerians will hear his voice even when he is SILENTLY SLEEPING in his ASO ROCK VILLA or where does he even live?

I agreed with most parts of your post and it showed you are a real student of history but let me hit you a bit. When the colonial came, their aim was to come and exploit the resources in the south and North.they were able to establish their colonies within the territories and at a time it wasn't easy for them, they established the INDIRECT RULE system.the system worked in the western part of the south and the north due to an organised leadership structure which was in place then except in the south east that has no particular leadership structure.
However,it may interest you to know that most of the kingdoms then were actually involved in act of slave trade with the ROYAL NIGER COMPANY ;so most of the local chiefs had to resort to kidnapping people outside their kingdom to sell to the company.
The british did not teach us any substantial education, what they did was to teach the elementary arithmetric and also the act of reading and writing in order to ease their trade.

steady petroleum product supply
reduced internet rates, i believe our economy is fast growing with him. let`s not forget it took 32years to decay, we may need up to 10 years to rebuild it.

i may not know your location where you are writing from, same is GEJ he want to reach all the nook and crannies of this country, not relying much on pa`s and SA`s, All you owe is your constructive criticism, all the past leaders that ruled the country before, how many do you have access to, if you are not within the corridors of power. if you don`t consider GEJ as the most advanced, educated and dynamic president of Nigeria, it simple implies you wished we are in the old Nigeria, were mobile phones are luxury as our past leaders said, where if you can buy Eva water 100 why not make call for 1min/100, where an AGF will tell you blatant lies. Nigerians we should advocate for change, the Peugeot of 1980 can never be measured with 2010 Peugeot. so wake up and be dynamic, cause is constant
