They weighed it that's why. Avoid buying weighted food from shoprite except you have money. Otherwise their prices at shoprite are fairly cheap.

That's how many of these people live fake lives. They will go to Shopping Malls and see items with ridiculous expensive prices and they will rush to pay. But when they see corn seller on the road struggling to feed her 7 children that calls this same corn N100, instead of them to pay immediately, that's when they will remember they have PhD in economics and start pricing useless price like, if e gree 3 for N50, I will buy. Pathetic. Some will be pricing car like Akara but when they go to places like Elizade or Coscharis and those ones use price cut their neck, they will be smiling sheepishly and won't talk like somebody wey get boil for tongue grin
did they ask the woman to open her legs for 7 children? Oga pack well

Re: Photo Of N500 Corn At Shoprite by Reference(m): 9:02am On Aug 02, 2019
So what. Is it a crime to set your prices and standards. Nigerians do not want to pay for anything so they have nothing. The same mentality that scorns this is the same mentality that multiplies thè number of women selling corn by the road side for peanuts (no pun intended). If you cannot connect the dots then you have no hope.

I simply cannot accept a situation where the economy keeps on sinking, the purchasing power of Nigerians eroding year on year and instead of fighting to turn around the situation we fight to justify it and manage it that way. My first salary was N212 a month and in six months I had a fully furnished house and robust savings. It can barely buy half that corn. Is that the fault of Shoprite.

Continue complaining and don't do what the citizens of other nations do. Let us see how low we can go and how poor we can get before our senses kick in.

The 500 naira corn is a clear indicator as to how far we have fallen behind the rest of humanity and the plethora of reactions is a clear reason why.
