most of them fools tells their children to straight their hair and stop them from marrying dark skin.

being mixed race doesnt mean u cant be black or white.
most america are mixed so not only dominica

improve the race they mean is that going from blackness to whiteness, that was what the bastard trujillo was trying to do when he massacred the Haitians in DR and imported whites from Europe like Brazil.

he was the one that brainwashed the blacks in DR then that are taino not black, the fact that Spanish have killed most taino in that island.

Most? Would not most identify as Dominican? Do you live there or know a lot of them? Straight hair? Most BW in the USA do that or wear wigs.

Lol This is false information. "Afro-Domincans" are 80% of the population as stated, but are in fact not as "mixed race" as you and they like to think they are. Its all a bunch of carry-over white washing ideological thoughts carried over from the Trujilo whitening policy back in the day. Brazil, PR, Cuba and most successfully Argentina all implemented some version of the same process during that same period.

The process pushed a policy that cornered the black population into conditions that encouraged them to hate their African heritage and blackness to the point that they'll want to eliminate it out of their future generations, this was supplemented with a flood of European immigrants into the nation in hopes that they would begin the process of actually physically mixing the blackness out of the nation.

Read up on this. The project didn't work so well as a lot of the Europeans didnt want to mix and many others ended up migrating to other locations in latin america or the US over time. But the project did a major psychological job on the nations Afro-Dominican population, as many began to seek out mostly only fellow afro-dominicans with the whitest or simply non african features in hopes of in time generating a mulatto race people, or more so one that has the appearance of being so, as is somewhat the case currently. This only partially worked as well.

They are no more a mixed race group as than many other afro diasporan groups; yet these other groups are still proud of their african roots in the US, Caribbean, central and South America. Many Dominicans are seen as just a bunch of sellouts, by the rest of the diaspora.

Even Afro-Brazilians, cubans and PRs who went through a similar process as them, have gone through a major psychological change and are now majorly re-embracing their pride in their blackness and African heritage.

DR had lots of protests a couple of years ago against government corruption, hundreds of thousands show. Good representation of the country.

Lol That pie graph means nothing when dealing with a group that is traumatized and confused as to their racial identity. That graph is based on a mixture of what people will self report about themselves and an image of what their gov. wants to present to the public and the rest of the world about their nations populous; neither of wich are credible. This is well recognized by even international organizations. Many other Latin America nations either used to or still do have the same issue of clearly "black" people putting mulatto or a half dozen other terms related to skin tone down all in an effort to avoid having to put down black or Afro whatever.

Now if they could get away with it, they'll put down white in a heartbeat. Lol That's what many of them tried to do when they began immigrating to the US in large numbers starting back in the 30s and 40s, but the US would not allow them to do so, so the US gov. just simply created the Hispanic or Latino/a catigory for them all to be placed under as a compromise.

Most of the folks who identify as black listed on that graph are Haitians of all skin tones and features, they make up a sizable portion of the nations population, and are very proud of their blackness and African roots unlike their Dominican cousins.

Dominicans did not start coming to the US until the 1970's, more so 1980's-1990s. They are not traumatized and you can find many on youtube posting DNA kit results. They are very aware of their ancestry. Hopefully this link works, American writer from the early 1900's.

I did not specifically state that dominicans began coming at that time; I stated that that is when hispanics, more specifically Puerto Ricans and Cubans mostly began doing so in significant numbers.
