5 Things That Might Happen If Sowore's Revolution Now Starts by Nobody: 11:09am On Aug 04, 2019
From a careful analysis of revolutions, here are some things that may happen if Omoleye Sowore’s #RevolutionNow starts:

1. Foreigners may leave the country. Western capitals might issue negative travel advisory against Nigeria. Consequently, tourists and investors might leave in droves or cancel trips.

2. The price of crude oil might sky rocket but Nigeria might not benefit. Nigeria is one of the major exporters if crude oil. So, any instability in Nigeria is bound to send shockwaves to the global economy. Nigeria might not benefit financially from such rise in oil prices if the revolution affects its ability to drill/export crude oil.

3. The international media will beam its searchlight on Nigeria in negative light (why not news that Nigeria has started an alternative to android, or successfully sent an astronaut to the moon!?). The Federal Government might respond by hiring social media influencers to tell its own side of the story. At the end of the day, the whole back and forth might just be Nigeria washing its dirty linen in public.

4. Banks, schools and offices might remain closed, disrupting the everyday flow of activities.

5. Food prices might rise, leading to hunger.

In consideration of all these unpalatable possibilities, we advice the Federal Government to Immediately constitute a
high-powered delegation
to hear Omoleye Sowore out. They should also immediately implement at least some of his group’s demands.

Almost All mentioned above are already happening even without the revolution.

Revolution is not a play thing.

Did Sowore declare war? Why are you guys so scared of people finally waking up from their slumber?

Lol.. You took it right out of my mouth..

Without revolution, prices of food stuffs and provisions are soaring higher like never before. Spaghettis and Indomie has been diminishing in size constantly.

Without revolution, banks are being sold out due to debts by some of these thieving politicians and there cohorts. Offices are closing down on daily basis.

Without revolution, how many foreign investors have you seen? I'm not talking about the hundreds of thousands of MOUs, that have been been signed on papers and implemented on media by administrations, both present and past.

Without revolution, the so-called schools themselves are dilapidated beyond repair.. Go to our federal institutions and see their hostels, toilets, lecture halls, etc and you'd weep like Jesus wept.

Without revolution, can you stand and boast that the govt have done remarkably well in the sector of labor and employment?

Without revolution, can any entrepreneur or owner of any SME claim that at one point or the other, he hadn't contemplated giving up, not because he/she is lazy but, because of the unfavorably environment.

Without revolution, can you boast today that if suddenly, you develop kidney failure, you won't scream on air and to all the media outlets for your fellow Nigerians to help you, which in the first instance, shouldn't be so? Must be we always run to India and the US for kidney transplants, when we can easily fix our medical and health facilities. Yet your "leaders" develop fever and end up running to the US for checkup at the expense if tax payers money.

Without revolution, can the OP even boast of steady power supply?

How then, can you blame a revolution cum movement, for woes that have been plaguing our nation.. How?? OP how

Or are you one of those scared little babies that gives excuses when push comes to shove? When it's time to react and repel oppression m, they find and give every reason why they should remain oppressed..

The OPs reason for compiling this commendable rubbish, is what i still can't comprehend and, to even think he sat down on a chair to sum this up, is totally bizarre.

Let me borrow this powerful expression from a Nairalander.. I think it qualifies the kind of person OP is..
"Nigerians are special kind of zombies genetically operated from the womb of their mothers to remain dumb and ignorant while loving their chains and masters. Nigeria : Home of happy slaves and zombies"
.. Even though i don't know him personally here on Nairaland, i think he has a first hand knowledge on the nature and understanding of Nigerians.

You are very discerning. Negative reports about Nigeria might push its image toward pariah status, negatively impacting the economy.

That's why the FG and Sowore's should seat on a table for talks asap. Sowore is a powerful activist, and so FG should reason with him now.

I get your point now...maybe the word revolution is too strong...but we need to shake this government up! Bubu either wakes up to the responsibility of governing a country or he leaves!

We should hope they do it. Sowore is not an activist to be trifled with. And Nigeria needs some urgent reforms from FG in the face of the current state of things, which even FG has admitted could be better.
