There are people there that can pay for WAEC and NECO. Some kids have to work for sometimes in order to raise funds for their o'level exam and university education

You expect the government to sponsor him? - name the sane country please. In a well-run country, going abroad wouldn't be the priority and he would take a student loan to pay the remaining 50% to attend an elite university.

You have to apply and get admission in Yale or Harvard to get there. The boy in question has not applied to any of those schools and won't be going there. If he was as good as you think, he would have gotten full scholarships there instead of a half scholarship at a backwater school like Kansas.

It's a sad situation that needs to be addressed - but then Americans pride themselves on their cut-throat capitalism. It's working for them, I guess, since it has made them the most innovative and successful people in human history. But until they give their capitalism a human face, it's a choice. Many people are doing great things without a college degree.
