blackmann: @OP, it all depends on where u want to do the masters. Here in the USA they have what is ccalled WES which evaluates your transcripts. It all depends on ur GPA too. there evaluation usually boosts up the scores. If you have one just below a 2.2, chances are that it will rise once it hyas been evaluated.

Uniben grants someone with lower grad an opportunity for masters in Geological science but u need a relevant work experience in d field. Am applying this year cos 0.02 gave me a 3rd class in Unizk and am working in an oil servicing company and so outstanding and ve had alotta recommendations. Life is better of with a 3rd class in Nigeria cos u'd start from d bottom to chance d honored at d topmost. Most parade with 2:1 yet dey can't even reason out simple logic and i'd just laugh it off. Anyways, guy, with same condition as mine, check uniben site and if u ve done some and ve been accepted or rejected pls share ur testimony so I can know hw to go about it.

That's a falsehood . No reputable university in the uk gives direct admission for research oriented degrees to third class degree holders. Just forget about that.

I personally know someone who graduated with a 3rd class from Nigeria, and went on to do a PGD, masters, and Phd. He did the Phd in the UK, while PGD and Masters I think were here.

I'm sure if you investigate you'll find options in the UK. Some good schools offer a PGCert/PGDip route through to an Msc. Just do your research.

I think you should check University of Glasgow. www.gla.ac.uk and they often come to Nigeria to speak and give admissions as well. Dave Abion in ikeja shld be able to help cos they are reps to a lot of schools in the UK and they wld let you know what your options are and what universities wld admit you.

I am not so sure but at the university of Glasgow you might be required to do pre-masters before joing the masters class and that might be for six months. At the worst they wld offer you Pgd.

I also know if you have experience thats for their mba classes majority of the time you wld be offered a place based on your experience but dont get your hopes high on that.

I finished from the university of glasgow and had friends that did the pre-masters.
