hedonido:Where sir? What is special in the report that has not happened before. Go get 1970 Daily Times or 1980 Newswatch and read investigative reportage. This "We are getting there" slang should stop please. It reeks of mediocrity. 7 Likes 1 Share |

This report isn't comprehensive. Questions are: 1. When the soldiers shot at the vehicle and it sommersulted, was their intent to kill everyone on board? 2. How come a vehicle was shot from a distance and only the the kidnapper in chains made it out? 3. There were videos or audio purportedly of the police men identifying themselves to the army, this report didn't capture that. The army knew they were police officers on a covert mission but they killed the police officers to rescue their Kidnapper friend, nothing else. You supporters of this failed government cannot twist the story to make Buhari and Buraitai look good. Those two are failures QED. 9 Likes |

Stoicbaba: Not necessarily. And as a matter of fact i dont indulge in crime because i know i cant do the time. Just stating the obvious why its not good to do crime as it is difficult to commit a crime alone so its safer to hustle and pray for God to bless your hardwork 1 Like 1 Share |

DennisEche:. The IRT also made a mistake of driving into town after picking him up and the moment they loose guard and allowed him bring his head out of the car to call for help their fate was sealed. 3 Likes |

Mayeldah:Thank you. Did the Policemen not cross those checkpoints to enter the town? What is wrong in stopping at checkpoint to identify yourselves? A town where three military check points are mounted should tell you that security is a concern to the environment. Why would the police not stop and identify themselves instead of attempting to overrun the check point? Increasingly there are questions not answered. Lastly while shooting was going on, the bullets were sensible enough not to kill Wadume and his accomplice but killed only Policemen. Story and great reporter! |

During interrogation, Kwarba revealed that Bala was their leader. The police then allowed Kwarba to be communicating with Bala on the phone for over three days, as though he was not in detention. Based on their communication, the police were able to gather useful information. It was during one of their conversations on the phone that Bala disclosed that he was coming to Ibi for Eid el Kabir celebration. On arrival in Ibi, Bala phoned Kwarba to inform him. Nobody is saying anything concerning the above statement. Hamisu Wadume is a suspected kidnapper, the civilian killed (Kwarba) is just to cover up. |

if the kidnapper wasn't connected to the military I see no reason why he is on the run the police should intensify efforts in bringing back this man |

One thing about the Nigerian police is not having and keeping secret. The identity of the informant is now known. Deal with Police at your own peril 1 Like |

But while passing the coffee joint, (where Bala was picked) the suspected kidnapper forced his head out of the vehicle and shouted: “I have been kidnapped by these people.”I'm surprised non of the commenters took time to reflect @ the bolded. If the officers were mistaken for kidnappers by the military as the story teller wants us to believe. How come the "supposed kidnappers" were not shot at the first and second checkpoint until the military were called? 1 Like |

The police operation could have been a very clean operation if not for the sabotage act of the soldiers at those check point. But it seem the police wanted a very silent and clean operation because they know how influencer the criminal is, they were avoiding attention and this even make the job riskier. They could have drove him straight to the airport to a waiting police chopper to convey him to abj. This would have save those special force trained by the police. The Nigeria police is under found 2 Likes |

SOFTDRINK: Abi o I guess the first two checkpoint, apparently, did not know about the kidnap. It was the third checkpoint (which had allegedly been contacted by the kidnapper's accomplices) that got to know and so opened fire. All the same the story get plenty comma 1 Like |

Validated:it was a covert operation, the army on sentry was not meant to know about it, the army is not meant to execute and in such situations only shoot if they were shot at. I find it difficult to believe the story coming from the army, my line of duty pits me very close to them and one thing i know is if they stay longer than two weeks in a place, they are easily corrupted. 1 Like |

Donpenny: It's possible they had even received information about likely collusion between some of the army officers and the kidnapper. That could explain why they were trying to gate-crash all the checkpoints. But it was a risky move. 1 Like |
