Figure can not be correct. How did they arrive at this number?
From number of calls-up letters issued?
From number of certificates issued?
How about ghost corpers (Corps members)?
Are they part of the 4.6m?
Because as far as I am concerned, ghost corpers don't "participate" in the scheme but they get issued discharge certificates.

The National Youth Service Corps has said that only 4,644,808 Nigerians have participated in the scheme since inception in 1973.

The NYSC Director-General, Brig-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, stated this on Thursday at an ongoing press conference in Abuja, noting that the scheme had been able to achieve national unity and integration.

The DG added that 1,132,409 corps members had also been equipped with Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development package of the scheme.

It's dismal, so where do they get all those that are recruited from into the civil service and oil companies? because, we definitely have a larger workforce and if only 4m have certification where did the rest or what qualifications do the rest have, that are occupying the public service?

This is not true at all. 1973 to 2019 is 46yesrs and nigeria produce over 200000 graduate each year meaning we have over 9milions graduates over the years.

Just so we know that this country has been a joke of a country since 1973.
It means Nigeria produces a maximum of 108 graduates per year on the average.
Are jobs appearing and evaporating? Are graduates dieing faster than they are employed or are jobs evaporating.
Either NYSC is so wrong or God should come and do our own rapture for us in Nigeria. We have tried enough

nothing is wrong with the statistics. It's their statistics and they just told u what they have in their record. U don't expect them to tell u otherwise. The question should be why is it that most of our graduates are unemployed and who are occupying the civil service and other government jobs.

This figure is unacceptable.
How many graduate is a single University sending for youth service annually not to talk of our polytechnics.
I don't think these figures comes from the right source.
