My only problem with this guy’s unfortunate case is Nigerians using it as an excuse to remain lazy and poor. You’d see them standing-by waiting for the maximum punishment to be meted out to the offender like say they dey on jury duty, instead of them to mind their hustle.

These poor lazy people now think that anybody with a good car, house and money to spare to live a good life must be into yahoo and rituals.

My brothers and sisters na lie. If you like don’t go and hustle. Waiting for another man’s downfall won’t increase your account balance, it won’t benefit you in any way.

He should just tell them that he is guilty in the next court proceeding so that is jail time will not be much
/
It doesn't work like that. It is called a "Plea deal" for a reason. A deal has to be made with the District Attorney's office first. He will be prosecuted on a lesser charge, then he can plead guilty to that for a less penalty. Pleading guilty doesn't mean he committed the crime. It is part of the chess game they play with people's lives in the judiciary system in US to save time and money involved in trials. It is worst for poor folks who don't have enough reserves to hire good and competent attorneys.

Eg: Charges X with a crime that carries mandatory 15 years minimum.
X makes a deal with DA to give names of accomplices for reduced charges that will get him out in 2 years.
This is where "snitching" comes into play. No lengthy and costly jury trial.
With all parties in agreement, X plays his part, serves only 2 years and is out.

With no deal, if he pleads guilty, they will nail him to the cross.

not guilty ker u gat to be joking, american dont arrest anyhow they arrest when they have full evidence that can nail the accuse the life.

Only if you knew how many people have been jailed in America for crimes they did not commit. The worst I ever heard was a guy jailed in his 30s for the horrible murder of a woman. More than forty years later, during which guy trains himself to be a lawyer right in his Jail cell, he sues the city and everyone involved in his case. They dig up things and ran the new DNA test on all evidence in the murder.

Booom!!!

There were two DNAs in the car where the woman was murdered 40 years ago but neither was a match to the man they jailed.

They released him sharply and then the city spent over 3 months begging him to accept $200 million in compensations out court. Apparently, it would be cheaper for the city that way.

There have been frame-ups by US cops that put people in jail for years. Black people are the worst affected by that shit... that's why every black man's worst fear is to be arrested by a white cop who is a white racist... Either you go to jail, get beaten or get shot... for doing nothing!!!!

You obviously have no knowledge of what you are talking about, do you know how many cases have been overturned. People have served years in prison in America for crimes they know nothing about. Numerous cases mahn, google is your friend.

It is estimated that about 2.3 - 5% of prisoners in United States are actually innocent. There are over 2 million prisoners in US, do the maths!

You are wrong, most wrong judgements in the US is never about fraud..most are murder and rape.

Not in this case o. This is fraud related na. Which one is he being innocent again. The guy sef knows his game is up. Maybe that was why he snitched on his 80 brothers whose names were released in relation to fraud.

Don't worry when you visit America you will understand better. The way SARS kill young men, thats how cops in America harrass and kill young men. Gang violence is the highest, public shooting, racism...Dont believe all you see in the media about the American society. They have the best media to cover their lapses.
