You see. This technique is called phishing. Nothing spectacular about it. I receive phishing text messages once in a while from scammers trying to get hold of my account. We get emails everynow and then at work about phishing email targeting cooperations. it's more popular than you think and it's far from complex.
The yahoo boys don't even create the clone sites themselves. They are that dumb. They contract the sites to all these unemployed web developers that would build you a site for N1500.
