It can never be well with this country. Statement of fact......... All this year's that xenophobic attacks have been going on in South Africa and nothing has been done about it. How can the international community respect us, when there is hatred between Nigerians. Nairaland idiots will be screaming Igbo this and Igbo that, it was when I joined Nairaland I knew how much hate we have towards one another in this hellhole The best thing that can happen to this country is disintegration shikena |

Oga this is all political rhetoric, no one has the cojones to take a stand...There is an MTN office and Shoprite in Asaba, ask them to shut down for 48 hours and see if you will not get the desired response. |

Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has condemned the recent Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa, Igbere TV reports. Igbere TV had earlier reported that properties worth millions of naira, and belonging to Nigerians, were set ablaze by South Africans. A viral video sighted by Igbere TV also showed several shops being looted by the angry South African citizens in their large numbers. President of the Nigeria Union in South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, said the attacks began on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg. Mr Olubajo said in a statement on Monday that the mob “looted several shops that were around the vicinity suspected to be owned by foreign nationals.” Reacting to the development on his Facebook page, Governor Okowa called on the federal government to rise and protect its citizens. “I condemn in the strongest possible terms the repeated violent attacks against Nigerians in South Africa. The Federal Government must immediately liaise with the South African authorities to protect the lives and livelihoods of all our citizens. #SayNoToXenophobia”, he wrote. http://igberetvnews.com/958657/fg-must-act-now-nigerian-gov-on-xenophobic-attacks-in-south-africa/ We really need Federal Government to intervene, that suffering is too much. |

GoldChest:how can he when he didn't to the killings within his control is the one out of his reach that he will be able to act. I am dead sure that if it were Nigerians who attacking other Nationals here in the way SA are doing now, a good number of them would have been arrested and even shot by mindless combined forces of NPF,NA, NAF, NN etc. Ordinary workers protest in companies you see police arresting people and securing the facilities. It's a good thing though but we are not valued elsewhere and the same cannot be done to us in other climes. Hope we are all taking note. |
