If you are complaining about the state of Nigeria but hailed Ibori when he returned to Nigeria "because he helped his people", you are part of the problem.

He used Nigerian money to campaign for Ghanaian political post in Ghana. See Ghanaians talking rubbish about Nigerians. Big shame to Delta youths. Ibori, God punish you and all your generations.

You stole money from your poor people to lavish abroad and dash to non Nigerians. When they now showed you pepper abroad, Na still your village you run go! Make lightening strangle you every day that you are alive!!! What an animal!

I am so hurt by this news, these are the kind of activities money laundering would fuel; you rob your people of their rights and resources and siphon it through a foreigner who robs you back and funds his ambition in his country...people's sweat and means to rightful living frivolited away for the cause of greed and self aggrandizement. That's money for schools, hospitals, roads (of which I remember a certain pastor pouring anointing oil on), infrastructure development, human capital development e.t.c. They are burning it faster that benson & hedges.....
its still the masses that bears the brunt....it's still the masses, it's the masses.....this is doom vile. Shitttttt.

When I read write-ups on this forum blaming Britain for our many problems, I despair. It appears Nigerian youths are not just too lazy to work, they equally find the use of their brain an insurmountable task. Take this Ibori's case as an example. ..

A petition highlighted his thievery, he was arraigned in a court in Nigeria. A Nigerian Judge found him not guilty. Meanwhile the UK had hard evidence of his fraudulent transactions and the trail of illegal cash linked to him. Ibori left Nigeria and fled to Dubai. The UK sought and secured his extraition to the UK where he was convicted for money laundering. The evidence was incontrovertible that he stole Delta State blind during the 8 years he was the governor. It would have been funny if it was not so embarrassing and disheartening that in all these, Delta State was insisting that their money was not missing.

Today, he's back in Nigeria and has a lot of sympathizers. I just don't understand Nigerians. When I read Nigerains comparing Nigerian corruption to any in the world, even mentioning the UK in the same sentence, I despair. Nigerians don't really appreciate how bad things are here...what is more, they have no clue who are the cause of their problems.

Buhari sure has his defects but if you rail against Buhari but defend the likes of Ibori or even Jonathan, you are insincere and a part of the problem. This is the reason we can never achieve the desired change in Nigeria. Primordial attachments and cronyism rule the day.

He has already served four and a half years in jail, yet the court is threatening him with ten more years for the same offence unless he pays £7.3m.

Assuming he decides to pay, who will get the money? The court, the British government or the Nigerian government.

It may be better for him to refuse to pay and risk the jail term; at least, he can appeal the judgment.

shocked

The proceeds from crime never settles in a belly. If you want to cheat, make sure you cheat death, not people. If you must lie, then lie down to sleep, but don’t lie to people. If you need to beg, then beg God for forgiveness, don’t beg people for money. And if you are must boast, boast only of God’s love for you.

Dont be in too a hurry to make a bad wealth. Practice the art of regularly thinking alone. Ideas are shy. They won’t come to you if you're always surrounded by people. Leave your phone. Take a notepad. Go to your closet, pray, then meditate and 'ideate'. As you 'ideate', God will fill your mind with wealth bringing ideas.

Flashvite:
A former Goldman Sachs banker, Ellias Preko, who helped the former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, to hide funds in offshore accounts has been ordered to pay back £7.3m or face 10 years more in jail.

Preko, a 60-year-old Ghanaian had been convicted and jailed for four and a half years back in 2013 for his role in the fraud.

Judge David Tomlison ordered Preko to pay back £7,324.268.41 following a confiscation hearing.

Preko has three months to repay the money or he could face another 10 years in jail, reports Daily Mail.

Preko, who represented himself, told the court in a previous hearing much of the cash had been spent on election campaigning back in his native Ghana.

He said he had run as a candidate for the centre-right NPP party back in the mid-2000s.

Preko explained that Ghana is predominantly a cash-based society and that few receipts exist for his campaign spending.

Ibori was jailed for 13 years in 2012 after he admitted to stealing state funds during his two terms in office as a governor.

The court heard how he pocketed up to £160 million from government treasuries.

Ibori misdeed is still smelling like rotten eggs years after leaving public office.

The Ghanaians man that was his errand boy in perpetuating fraud against the good people of Delta state and Nigeria at large is now to face justice.

Ibori used his 8 years rule to ran aground the economic resources of Delta state.

He fraudulently acquired a university called western delta university along the Benin Oghara expressway.

Lately the trump administration in Washington DC denied Ibori wife an opportunity to give birth to a baby which means the child can not get or become a usa citizen automatically.

This might not be the last of the Ibori saga.

Years after leaving public office Ibori is still being strangulated for nothing but his corrupt legacy.
