I have a 12 years old child during my university days now am about to getting married to another lady. On getting to the marriage registry to make enquiry about registry procedures, i was asked if i have a child and honestly i said Yes coz i can't hide my child. I was told by the marriage registrar that i need to obtain a letter of divorce from the customary court in order to get on with my wedding plans despite the fact that i never got engaged or married to my baby mama.

Lawyers or other marriage registry officials in the house kindly shed more light on this issue. Thanks
