MAKING OUR CHILDREN LEADERS TODAY TO BECOME BETTER LEADERS TOMORROW
It is a common saying that children are leaders of tomorrow; sometimes this tomorrow is keep being procrastinated for too long. This is largely due to misunderstanding of true concept of good leadership. A lot believe that leadership is all about occupying a top position in public, private or social establishments. A good leadership is about taking good responsibility for task or people you are assigned to by nature, social circumstances or official authority. Based on this definition, therefore everyone that has task or people responsible for is a leader.
There is a need to keep engaging the children minds to creativity and problem solving. We need to build an inclusive mentality into them very early such that as a members of the society, they have their own quota to its development. The challenges in our society such as poor infrastructure should help us to make good engineers in the future by stimulating their thoughts on better designs and deliveries of such solutions. Any health related challenges should prompt us to activate the children minds to different medical professions available where they can contribute to make the world a better place. Crime, kidnapping, terrorism problems of today can be opportunity to let children know about different security agencies that are existing, the current efforts and challenges they making on how they can improve. High cost and scarcity of certain foods and fruit items should help us to let children know about the value chain, from agriculture to food retail businesses.
We need to engage their children minds to think on how today problems can be solved so that they can be better prepared for the future challenges. Meanwhile the result of their findings, research and opinions can be channeled to different quarters where such can be useful. This will also help the children in making good career choices that is based on passion(problems to solve) and not just on profit(how much to be earning) .If we continue like this we will make our society and the world a better place that we met it.
