For those who have nasty things to say about drug addicts, please don’t.
Yes it’s unpleasant and painful especially to their family members. But being a drug addict is more than just a habit. It’s like someone else moved into your brain and took over the controls. It’s a mental illness that requires medical management like all other mental illnesses.

They do not have a choice (except at the beginning before they started doing the drugs) but when they are hooked on it, they have no control anymore. It’s something that stays managed (like HIV) but can’t be cured (as of yet). Maybe with progress in medicine the future might be different. But for now, reserve your judgment please and show compassion.

OP as for your dad, his heart might be in right place but you’re right: his timing and delivery needs work. What’s the point of saying the proper thing if it has no effect based on how you say it and when you choose to say it?

But sadly he’s not here to read any comment that might have advice for him . So I don’t see how this thread can solve your problem.

Not at all sir. please try to get my message.. but i got alot of advice from som mature minds in the forumn and discussed intensively with my dad.. he his now better with words especially around strangers about his family in particular cos its almost lead to enemity between him his sister and my cousins . thanks alot for passing by

Thanks alot.. It did solve my problem approached it with caution as it is the life style they are used to.. I had to tell him christ had compassion.. it won souls better
