Hello lady's in Nigeria, once your bride price is paid you are married. Traditional marriage is not half of marriage that becomes complete after you've gone to church to be wedded by the pastor.
Traditional marriage is complete in itself. marriage according to the Acts ( Registry marriage which is also extended to the church) is also complete on it's own.
in fact, it is church that won't wed you if you have not fulfilled the Traditional requirements. But Traditional marriage does not require church for anything.
Registry marriage does not require parental consent. All it requires are two adult witness. one for the groom and one for the bride. the witness can be anybody as long as they are adults. the moment you sign the dotted lines you are married. that is the position of the law.
