All these lavish wedding is not my thing.....left to me, weddings would be just couple's, their immediate families, a pastor and a church and everyone lives happily ever after. |

I partially disagree with numbers 2and 3. Most three months salary cannot take care of wedding... Someone earning between #30000 to even #80000 a month, can't organise an economic wedding... Then, trusting your money with your wife might lead to a heart failure.. You think it is every woman you can entrust money. OP use your number 7 again |

Emceesaka:it is not poor man reasoning it is wisdom at play... Do you think Dangote can not have up to hundred children and still train them very well? But why do you think he chose not to... In most superb and classic schools I have been most of the parents there don't have more than three children... They gave them the best.. I keep a tab on them ..many left for UK, USA, ukraine, Germany etc But it is poor man that will keep impregnating and tell us God says multiply and fill the earth |

These here may not be popular but they are the words of wisdom, but how many would be couples will listen? How many brides parents will listen? How many groom's Mother would take note? Pastors nko? I am a wedding planner by choice. It started out as a passion now I do it full-time. Most times I just see people who should be investing in their future spend all their lives savings on a wedding. When you try to be the voice of reason. They tell you "I am getting married just once" or " I just want to satisfy XYZ" . If you earn say #100k a month and spend 2.5m on your wedding then you have spent your salary for two years plus on a one day or at most two days event. Sometimes some couples contact me to plan or decorate their wedding they say it's a budget wedding but they won't cut their cloth according to their cloth. Or tell themselves the truth. Let me give you some pointers to help with planning. The easiest way to reduce a wedding budget is to cut down your guest list and have a trictly by IV wedding. You would offend people but we can not please everyone even if you try. Dear Bride and Groom please invest in your future together. God bless you. 1 Like |

ednut1:Genuine Madness my brother. Anybody who spend for wedding like this must be hurled off straight to the psychiatric hospital for exhaustive mental evaluation. Even Moneybag Mark Zukerberg did his wedding in his backyard with barely up to 10 guest in attendance all of whom were invited that very same day. Don't mind our people. When I meet my fiancée, I go sit am down and we go talk. Me I no dey ready to waste money for wedding even if am worth 100 billion dollars. |

Great tips. My tips are: -See what friends/family you have with skills such as cooking, photography, etc. - Make own wedding planner - negotiating what you do (or do not need). ex. we didn't need ceremony/cocktail hour music from our DJ and traded for uplights, reception site gave us $1000 off because we are doing the ceremony at a church. - we got most of our places at 2018 pricing for 2019, so while it's nice to enjoy the engagement, lock down those big ticket items early. - buying decor from Facebook/Craigslist marketplaces. most likely these items got 1-2 uses. on that note determine a color scheme/vibe before buying things. |
