I was in a scan room few years ago. It was abdomino pelvic ultrasound to confirm a concluded nephrectomy.. Lo and behold, the chief sonlogist found absolutely nothing wrong with both kidneys and it almost turned into an argument. The chief sonologist said he was going to sue the medical team should they proceed in cutting off the kidney. After thoroughly checking and consulting from a top teaching hospital in Nigeria, it was discovered that it's oversight error.

During my youth service...they brought one patient for me. Patient had severe kidney disease. Was swollen. They wanted me to give him blood transfusion so that they could take him 'for prayers'.

Me I refused and told them to go to a teaching hosptial.

If they like, make them call me bad dokita. I no go put my hand for something wey I no fit do. If in doubt....REFER.

Maybe the patient was a hopeless case, he needed money and just removed the two kidneys while they were still viable and wanted to japa with them..

This can happened to anyone.the truth is that this guy was mislead by uss result that he ordered the patient for when he presented with recurrent right pelvic pain which the sonographer said it was a pelvic mass not knowing that it was and abnormally located pelvic kidney and the only one kidney the guy has, unknowingly to him cos it didn't appear to him he went after the mass and after removing the mass that was when it occurred to him that it was abnormally located kidney becos the patient was not making urine after the surgery.so pls stop accusing him wrongly of stealing kidney if u didn't know how it happened.it can happened to any best surgeon that u can think of.
