The INEC and NYSC should key into EMPLOYEE'S COMPENSATION SCHEME of NIGERIA SOCIAL INSURANCE TRUST FUND (NSITF).
The objectives of the scheme is to make provisions for compensations for any DEATH, INJURY, DISEASE OR DISABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR IN THE COURSE OF EMPLOYMENT. this Act is apply to all employers and employees in the public and private sectors in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
So Inec and Nysc should have registered these corp members in the scheme to enjoy social security and safety net. Lastly it's a no fault scheme.

Firstly who shot him was it the police or the shitte members then whoever is responsible must be brought to justice.
Secondly how can 1 million cover for a child raised from infancy all the way through the scam called Nigerian universities only to die while serving a useless country.
I don't blame NYSC it's the family that accepted that worthless amount perhaps that's the worth of their son or maybe there's a contractual agreement made when one is joining the NYSC....

I'd have preferred Channels TV compensate the bereaved family and not NYSC. The young lad was too inexperienced and coy to be reporting the story that led to his death from a hostile environment. They (Channels TV) knew this, yet permitted it, endangering his life inspite having senior reporters who were very capable all for what A stupid award?? Negligence?? And what is 1million compare to a human life?? What a country!

Total and absolute rubbish, what is one million naira to value of lives lost.this country is just a joke.their family deserve far more cash compensation than this peanut offered to them.
