I think to institutionalize is to make the program long lasting even if any government comes years after the program remains. The program has been under ministry of budget and planning before now. Osinbajo has really touched lives through this program.

The wailers won't even understand that the programmes under the supervision of the Vice President was recognized and that is why the president make it a permanently one under a ministry so that it will not vanish like other social investment programmes by the previous government.....Kudos to the Vice President

Good one Mr. President. One of the problems we've been having in this country is lack of continuity. New government brings programmes and after their tenure expires the programme terminates. But with this move the NSIP will be added to a ministry and it'd continue even after PMB's tenure for the benefit of Nigerians.

Why wasn't Osinbanjo made the Coordinating Minister just like Buhari is coordinating Petroleum, Jonathan did for Power as President and Sports as VP under Yar'Adua.

Between Osinbanjo and the aboki Buhari appointed, who has better experience?

Continuity without legal backing?

Any President can scrap that in minutes. 500 billion is too much to be wasted in socialist policies when we are still battling consistent power failures.

Even if he wants to institutionalized it why wasn't PYO appointed the substantive Minister? He is the most qualified to head that ministry having managed it successfully for 3 years

The harmonization of all SIPs under one ministry makes it a national institution, and not just this administration's programme. The government is thinking ahead but people just want to throw shade. SMH.

Institutionalizing the NSIPs is a great step. It means long after this administration, a plan will be in place to permanently help the beneficiaries with the scheme. The Vice President has started it and successfully been at the hems of affairs. I hope the ministry will continue in this greatness.
