"President Buhari is a democrat. He respects the Constitution. Any activity aimed at altering the two-term limit will not succeed and shall never have his time nor support." Shehu explained.

I couldn't stop laughing to ..President Buhari is a democrat. He respects the Constitution shocked and I wondered how Shehu felt after typing that.

However popular Buhari might be, he dare not give that a second thought. Ask Obj or Jonathan who mooted such an idea in the past what ugly lessons he'd learnt!!

The Presidency has denied that the president is seeking to amend the constitution which will allow President Buhari run for a third term in office.

In a series of tweet by the spokesperson for the president, Garba Shenu, he shared as follows:

https://twitter.com/GarShehu/status/1179135722315345920?s=19

"The Presidency wishes to correct internet-based gossip and un-informed media commentary regarding presidential term limits, given credence by so-called support groups, staging street demonstrations asking President @MBuhari to do a third term."

"There are no circumstances – nor set of circumstances – under which President Buhari may seek to amend the Constitution regarding the two-term term limit on holding office as President."

"President Buhari intends to serve his full second elected term in office, ending 2023 – and then there shall be a general election in which he will not be a candidate."

"There is not even the faintest possibility that this will change."

"It is important to note that there was a past attempt to change the Constitution to allow for the-then incumbent president to stand for a third term. That attempt was wrong, unconstitutional - and rightly rebuffed."

"No such attempt will happen under this President."

"President Buhari is a democrat. He respects the Constitution. Any activity aimed at altering the two-term limit will not succeed and shall never have his time nor support." Shehu explained.

3rd term bid, lol not gen possible with the way everybody is waiting for this regime to end

Check my signature, your electronics at best prices
Same way we all waited for the first term to end but where still bundled into a 2nd term.

There is no smoke without fire ...besides now that all the 3arms of government have been merged into one. who would actually stop or resist it?

Lets stop decieving ourselves that we are still in a democratic era.. we all know that Nigeria is not practicing democracy presently ..so anything is possible.

lastly please. .who did we elect to rule us in Nigeria ,A PRESIDENT or THE PRESIDENCY?

Abeg who are those clamouring for Baba's third term? The problem with Naija is that once you have small money or power you refuse feedback, instead of giving baba the right feedback, some ignoramus are there praise singing incompetence. Only those gaining from the ineptitude of this administration are in support of a third term.

Exactly. Certain news are best ignored.

However, when such news reports are given attention by the elites and media house who you'd expect to wave them aside, the presidency is forced to react.

I somehow agreed with you bro because if their is no such plan then arrest or ban anyone from peddling such dangerous move it's as simple as that.

Beside apc lies alot I can never believe anything coming from any apc. The level of lies in apc is set in genetical mode, very dangerous liars.
The youths carrying placards for osunbande 2023 in Akure were arrested.
