Australia has gained immense popularity among international students as an ideal study destination with an excellent education system. As Australia promises to offer high-quality education, it also ticks all boxes fulfilling other expectations of international students that makes studying and living in Australia a unique experience.
One such expectation is scholarships. Australian government and universities offer numerous scholarships and bursaries to international students to study in Australia. Scholarships are offered for undergraduate, postgraduate as well as research programs. Annual Investment of the Australian Government on International Scholarships is nearly $200,000,000 thus making it one of the highest scholarships offering country.

Scholarships in Australia can be awarded based on:
• Faculties
• Courses
• The Nationality of The Student

Many Australian Universities offer Scholarships for International Students in Australia based on the academic credentials. There is no need to send a separate application for it. In few cases you may have to apply separately for scholarships once you receive the offer letter.

Australian Scholarships for International Students
1. Australia Awards Scholarships
Australia Awards Scholarships are offered for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training for the necessary minimum period.
All the Accredited Australian Universities give scholarships based on merit which not only cover the complete tuition fees but other allowances as well.
 Coverage: Full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses, overseas student health cover

2. The University of Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship (International)
This scholarship is awarded to international students for undergraduate or postgraduate level of studies based on their academic merit. The scholarship covers 15 to 30% of the tuition fee.

3. Deakin International Scholarship
Students with consistently high academic performance are recognized at Deakin. The Deakin University gives scholarship which covers 25% of the tuition fees for meritorious students.

4. International Merit Scholarships
This is also a merit-based scholarship which is offered by University of South Australia only. The scholarship holders get 25% reduction in tuition fees for the first year of study, up to a maximum of two semesters or eight courses. Students will be automatically assessed when applying for an eligible program.

5. Future Leaders Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded by Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology to international students from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal or Pakistan who will commence their Bachelor or Master by Coursework program at RMIT University. This is again awarded based on the academic merits. The scholarship allows 20% tuition fee reduction for the entire program duration.

6. Macquarie University India Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded by the particular university to all eligible meritorious students from India. Scholarship of AUD $10,000 per year is given for the duration of the Bachelor’s or Master’s coursework degree (AUD $5,000 will be credited each session).

7. Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship – Postgraduate Studies
This scholarship is awarded to meritorious students who have excelled in their previous study. An amount of A$21,000 is provided by the university.
