Heavy downpour which lasted for almost eight hours has claimed the life of a final year student of Ondo State-owned Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko.

Channels Television gathered that the deceased simply called ‘Doyin’, an Indigene of Ekiti State, was swept away to an unknown destination by heavy flood from a canal very close to her residence in the town.

The Commissioner for Agriculture in Ondo State, who is an indigene of the town, Otunba Gboyega Adefarati paid a condolence visit to the scene.

Buhari meets members of Economic Advisory Council

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja met behind closed doors with members of the recently constituted Economic Advisory Council (EAC).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the EAC, which was constituted on Sept. 16, replaced the Economic Management Team (EMT), headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The functions of EAC, chaired by Prof. Doyin Salami, include fiscal analysis, economic growth and a range of internal and global economic issues working with the relevant cabinet members and heads of monetary and fiscal agencies.

Senate Confirms Adeleke Adewolu As NCC Executive Commissioner

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Adeleke Adewolu as Executive Commissioner on the governing board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

FIFA fines Hong Kong after fans whistle Chinese anthem.

FIFA fined the Hong Kong Football Federation on Wednesday after local fans booed and whistled the Chinese national anthem at a World Cup qualifier against Iran.
