back to the topic,there are things I absolutely love in all cultures.

Those Yoruba laces are great,I've acquired a few and if you want your headtie tied correctly,find a Yoruba woman,ho ha.
The knee bending by Yorubas to greet elders is wonderful,it used to be common amongst Igbos maybe in my grandmothers days.
I love it and find myself doing it sometimes.

In traditional dances,next to Nkponkiti and atilogwu,I love the Calabar gyrating dances and the great leg movements with the broad smile on their faces.

The Igbo tradition of having a woman waited on hands and feet for 90 days after giving birth is a great one.
Her mother even bathes and dresses her and cooks her pepper soup with uda.

Is that true? How come they stopped? I always feel weird when I see a Nigerian not bow or whatever whenever they are around elderly people. I bowed for the parents of a good friend of mine who is Igbo during her graduation and her parents looked surprised and amused

It's so respectful.
In old Igbo traditional plays you always saw the women and wives bend their knees and even kneel to greet the elders and husbands but you never see it in real life.
That is one tradition we should have never lost.

babyosisi just brought something to my mind  . whenever my mom delivered my siblings eh, it's like time for enjoyment. i love all those native soup made with uda, orioma, etc with pounded yam. everything she eats for those 3months must be with pepper soup made from those native spice. atimes, the dark greenish leaf/vegetables. i had to learn to cook it too. wow we all long for a taste lol. those are real culture you know. i hope they still exist sha.

i like the bachama dance and the tivs too. every culture in nigeria is unique.
