Very funny how history has its way of unfolding in matters like this. Over this decade, Barca has enjoyed a fiary 80% stale record over Madrid- 75% to be fair, on both home and away games played. Looking at the head-to-head aggregate, the bookings favour Barca as was seen in the Spain side that won the world cup. Formation wise, one would expect Mourinho's usual pyramid formation, but then with Barca's open-space mid-field style of play, one would see large ball-possesion that would translate to goals. At worse, we might have a 2-0 or 2-1 win for Barca. The return leg would not be anything different.

it is only historical coincidence that barca ended up supplying most of the word cup team. its being fairly even in previous years.

i think you got ur analysis mixed up, mourinho keeps ronaldo/di maria far wide when he plays. its barca the plays narrow and like a pyramid; lets exclude the rampaging alves.

ball possession never translate to goals. if not barca would have won the return champs league semi final game last year against inter 10 - 0

Hmmm Hmmm Hmm (clears throat) The funniest thing is that most of the guys here hating on barca are those barca have thrashed and disgrace . E.g Arsenal , Chealsea , Man Utd Fans , Buhahahahahahahaha So e still dey pain U guys abi . Well you know Barca fans don't make Noise , it's after 90 minutes . Dude, don't get me wrong. About the ball possession, I said that should and not must necessarily translate to goals. Looking at the return leg last season, what killed that game was the red card shown to Motta which resulted in Inter employing an all-out defensive approach too early in the game. Mourinho himself attested to this. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE VERY 'COMPETITIVE' EPL? man u just won by 7-1. such margins have reoccured this season and last season in the EPL. but they will now pretend as if they've not seen it! but in the LA liga, they would not miss it.

This is just too tight to call, judging by the recent form both teams have displayed. But it is my wish that Real madrid comes out of this one victorious, cos barca has really over shadowed them in recent el classico's.
