The Nigerian was so properly colonized, he can only define God through the narrow lens of the Quran and the Bible - the Jewish and Arabic perspective of a Cosmic Creator.


His Gods were vanquished, deleted, destroyed. The followers died, leaving behind the nasty tales Christianity told of them. Broken, without a God, the mind searches for an internal guide, a compass to lead him through his solo sojourn on this planet Earth.

Lost and broken, he runs into the arms of Jesus. He is grateful, to be adopted, to be given permission to sit at the Master's feet.

'All that is around you, I made. Never touch the good Works of the Lord.'
And so he goes about always reverencing, never questioning, always following, never leading - the world of ideas see no lasting contribution for him.

You'd see him gather where there is garri, where things are cheap and accessible, where life's rules require little mental input. His brain is not right, for it's filled with old ideas from over two thousand years ago.

Old ideas about Egypt, Israel, the Middle East. Old ideas about culture, religion and myth. He follows the traditions of the Israelites who walked in the wilderness of Asia eons back - for he can not live without their myths.

While other nations invest in knowledge and education, he sees no need for that. He's fine, he's safe, in heaven, everyone will be equal.

The truth is, for we to actually rise above the foreigners that enslaved us, we have to let go of the past.

We must forget whatever happened years ago, centuries ago and focus on the future.
It is true they say we cannot build a future without knowing our past but Africans have dwelled on and in the past for so long that we forget that there is a future that needs to be built.

When I mean the past I mean all of it, who we were, what was done to us, what was destroyed and what was stolen.
