How long did you wait after an interview before you were given the job offer.

6 months. It was a construction job. I was in the brick laying department.

I was interviewed in January 21st and 22nd (two days interview) and got called on 13th December to resume work on the 28th December of the same year. In between these times, the recruitment team contacted me several times to send my updated CV, asked for my passport data page e.t.c. Some recruitment processes can take a really long time. Went for an interview in one of those(NIPP) National Integrated power project in Edo state
And after the interview i was employed that same day
Even when the interviewer asked do you smoke
I said yes but i smoke the other one

But now i don't go for interview anymore

After that NIPP job. Went for my admission and Uniben changed my destiny. They gave me computer science. Started teaching me old programming dog shiitt like Fortran and Pascal
I managed to finish with so many F and D
I Saved some cash and bought a system
Met my real niggarrrz for tools and format and i learnt how to change internet protocol from static to dynamic

And i started bombing

OP, I know it's not easy to wait. in fact, one of the hardest things any job seeker has to face is that dreaded silence after a job interview.

I know because I was once in that circle. Ranging from regular checking of emails and staying glue to your phones etc. Not easy.

That would be the period you will be most polite with strange calls, even if Aboki kind of wrong calls . You will pick and must be on top of your English speaking just to sound professional.

Though it depends on the employer's recruitment processes. Whether the position is currently vacant or is expected to become vacant in the near future can have a significant effect on the time frame.

If you're selected as a finalist, you should hear back within about three weeks or a month depends. Mine lasted for two months before I got that humble phone call to come over for medicals. That was when my battery was about giving up the ghost. I was lucky to receive the call

Just continue to pray and remain positive because you may lose concentration on other things especailly if the job is your dream job to hit. Wish you best of lucks.

Oh mehn after little exp in d labour market, i understand why most youths are jobless. Thats cuz they lack skills. I was jobless for like 4yrs with shit jobs after sch.
I started out as a 3rd class graduate with no hope and without even a driving skill. But yrs after i can operate some heavy machines, weld, design and im still pushing further on lots of things.
In answer to ur question, when u have a lot of skills, u dont wait for them to call you. They wait for u to resume.

I was already told the interview was a formality, I already had the job.
I'm a doc and it was a state teaching hospital badly in need of personnel. I've now resigned and moved on though.

A week after the interview but I was under priced despite the experience level....
Its a pity foreigners treat workers like shit here.
Still considerimg though.

2 months..... thou I didn't accept the offer...... I applied for Bank teller role and was interviewed for a Bank teller position to be placed in my state but they ended up giving me direct sales agent role in my employment letter and was posted to another state.... I refused resuming .......

all this outsourcing coys sha..... still hoping for something better because others are yet to reply after the interview

Within that period, they've probably engaged and disengaged some other people.

High turnover will definitely lead to high hiring cost. That's why it's important for companies to have a good HR department to attract the right talent/candidate for the job, ensure that employees are happy, thereby reducing the rate of employee turnover, which in turn leads to lower hiring cost and engagement cost.

Sadly, most Nigerian businesses don't understand this, especially those one-man businesses.

First interview/presentation on a Friday,
Second interview the next Monday, onboarded and documented on Tuesday, Resumed on Thursday......Its was like a miracle!!

10 months had pass o before you wey contacted...... chai

I have just waited for two weeks after the interview, nothing yet from the interviewers.
But I'm very optimistic that I'm getting the job.

Lolz I applied for one American company as head of ICT in 2014, after 5years (2019) August I got a call from them to check my mail, funny enough it was offer letter that they have carefully reviewed my cv, that I am to start work next week being October 2019.

I accepted the offer, and start given them my own posting till they got tired and stop calling my line.

It takes them 5yrs only for them to offer me mere 285k Salary, what a joke.
