A study of the voting trends in the recently held 3019 elections will reveal that PDP comfortably has two regions(SE/SS) in its control and in spite of Tinubu's famed political sagacity,

you can see the future in 3019

That PDP is still waxing strong in the East is purely due to APC's you-can-go-to-hell punitive measures and it's army of bigots attacks against the region. The East has very proud people and will not say 'sorry' in a democracy for not voting you no matter how much you marginalize them and expect them to prostrate and beg. The APC didn't seem to realize this despite having some few intelligent people at the top.

In working democracies when parties win power, if they want to remain in power for long, they expend a lot of energies appeasing the regions where they lost initially, so that it will go against human nature and conscience for that region to vote against that party in subsequent elections. It is the people that gives power not the other way round.

That PDP is not dead yet, is APC's doing. Using the instrument of marginalization, threats and nepotism to sideline the East kept PDP alive. It is to their gain.
I hope APC can surprise the PDP by ceeding the ticket to East. It will sweep the carpet off PDP's legs, it will create confusion in their camp. But unfortunately it is the same bigots within APC that are against an Eastern ticket. The same bigots who still want PDP dead yet want to sideline 11 million pro-PDP voters, almost 50% of the total voters population. They can't see beyond their nostrils.

Leave Igbos out of your misery. APC's ticket belongs to the Yoruba, while PDP's belongs to the NE. Let's then see how sophisticated Youruba really is.
I know PDP apologist when I see one. Someone told you the blank truth and here you're trying to shut him down.
What meaningful development have your likes brought to Igboland if not selling our birthright and foolishness.

Buhari didn't see beyond his nose when he made that 97% and 5% declaration. That divisive political statement and subsequent nepotism rallied the marginalized SE/SS to rally behind the PDP.
The APC killed the 2015 opportunity of hitting the final nail on the PDP coffin. Such was caused by bigots and so called advisers who didn't advice the President properly and thus brought back the rise of the PDP.
The 2019 electoral surprise of the PDP should be a good opportunity for the APC to be strategic in her political choices else they end up buried after Buhari's tenure comes to end in 2023.

from the PDP governors who for whatever reasons, particularly the Southeast governors, instead of supporting him were busy cutting deals with Buhari

These are the people that will first open their smelly akpu mouth to call other people betrayers.
This is the reason that anyone these people support openly will lose because they will be cutting deals at nights and betraying such person

Atiku learnt his lesson with these people in the hard way

While is not an easy political undertaking for the APC, one can also argue if they carry other regions in the decision making process, APC having an Igbo candidate destroys a major aspect of PDP campaign. Especially if PDP head north.

And it will be even more fun if APC win 2023 with Igbo candidate without dominating SE.

Until the SE demonstrate a convincing support for APC, the party will not be willing to take the risk.

The SE is the ONLY region without an APC Governor and where over 80% of the elected candidates are members of the PDP. So who are those elected members that will work for APC at the grassroots

Politicians can be foolish in governance, but they are very smart in politics

APC will surely not gamble their future by fielding a SWesterner against PDP's Northern candidate so they will be forced to go back to North and again power goes back to the Northerners.

So who is the real looser now? SE or the entire South? cheesy

by 2023 APC zoned presidency to West. if obj can win despite strong candidate from North then you're saying nonsense

any political disloyalty from North against west, will collapsed the political friendship btw North and south, which rescued them when southeast led south south to antagonise them politically. North might be archaic in everything but not in political loyalty

If PDP can get their act together, 2023 might just be the year they finally take back power. The only edge APC has over PDP is PMB and come 2023, PMB won't be on the ballot. A study of the voting trends in the recently held 2019 elections will reveal that PDP comfortably has two regions(SE/SS) in its control and in spite of Tinubu's famed political sagacity, PDP retains a foothold in the South West. With Buhari not contesting in 2023, d Northern votes will be up for the taking and it's now left for PDP to grab the initiative and firstly play the role of a virulent opposition party pre 2023, organising a transparent selection process that will present a credible candidate who is acceptable to majority of the members of the party and d Nigerian voters and also running an issue based campaign. In all, 2023 is open for PDP, APC and any third force that may emerge between now and then
Toward the 2019 elections, we were told that Buhari and APC had lost control of their major support base, the north. Today we are being told that Buhari and APC won because of their northern base support.

U are very naive. Yoruba are known to be wise, but u sound like a dumb person. If South west ends their political friendship with the North, the North will dump them and ally with South east. Who then is the loser?

In any case, PDP are likely to present an Northern/Eastern ticket

While APC a Northern/Western ticket being their strongest voting block

But we will keep telling them.

The SE owes nothing to APC.

We read today how the governors of the region betrayed Atiku by going in the nights to Aso Rock to cut deals with Buhari and the Presidency (PDP has the least total numbers of votes from SE) and it gives al clear idea why buhari was losing elections in the SE since 2003.

It will be sheer lunacy for APC to cede Presidency to the SE based on current realities

Why did igbo politicians in PDP worked against the SW in producing the chairman of Pdp by insisting that there would not be micro-zoning but opened to the whole of the South.

The East is not foolish enough to let your wish happen. If it must come south, it must be SE vs SE affair. The SW would have spent a cummulative period of 16 years in presidency as president and VP by 2023.

There is no emotion, just practical politics. If the APC zones the ticket to SW the PDP will be jubilating and we all know why.
