How does border closure affect you in particular.
I really want to know individual experience.. Pls.
Don't generalize..
-You can't say rice because we have it..
-You can't say okrika because we have brand new made in Aba...
-You can't say tokunbo cars because more people prefer to go online and bid for cars on ^Autoexport^ to be ship to Nigeria or pay agents to do it for them.

it is not about better access to fund perse but economical benefit of cheaper goods in Nigeria coming thru in lower tariffs and cheaper price. Goods imported from China to Nigeria happens to be more cheaper than goods imported to Ghana from China because of Nigeria cheaper buisness enviroment. There will always be a kick back against this by the locals, I urge my country goverment to work on reducing the cost of operating in Ghana and things will become better and much competitive
So why can't your trade unions expand their horizon ehn!
Partner with the Nigerian traders to have the goods deliver to Ghana from China through Nigeria na.
Myopic minds! Shallow minds!! Black minds!!!

Respect it.
But it isn't the trader's duty to enforce law though.
In Ghana
Law enforcement is a civic responsibility

This is probably maybe a good liaison. but how does it work in a very expensive enviroment? where goods with non Ghana origin are highly taxed.

Its their laws Nigerians should respect it.

Nigeria should also do the needful. We wont complain about ghanians doing petty trading.BUT

Nigerian markets are the major destination of multiple goods from Ghanian companies.Up to 90% in sone cases. These companies provide jobs to Ghanians at the expense of Nigerians. No one is crying wolf yet.

Time to revisit the ECOWAS charter

ECOWAS is useless

it is time everyone abandons it

The law was first drawn by John Attah mills during his regime when Ghanaian trader complain of the influence of foreing traders in the Ghanaian market . it was not a well thought out law but a political motivated law just to win the interest of the electorate. The law will be abolished or amended that I can assure. Even if GUTA goes ahead to court to seek for the law enforcement , they shall not win.
you think so?

If GUTA goes to court, there may be a constitutional crisis

The purpose of Ghana constitution is to prevent political violence. whatever that might be the outcome of the verdict base on the constitutional definition of the prescribed law, The motive of establishing a peaceful enviroment in the constitution is what will Triumph.

We should cripple them finally.

Invalidate any Ghanian certificate from working in Nigeria.

That is the first line of attack before we go further into their financial sector.

GUTA is run by highly educated people and they are well institutionalized
they know exactly what they are doing.

The Ghanaian government is being too diplomatic and putting too much hope in a free trade Africa nonsense that will never happen because the black man is too stupid to ever make things good for themselves.

So they will make things uncomfortable for the Government especially this election year such that Government will have no other option but to retaliate.

I hope you know this government is all about enforcing the laws of Ghana and they know how to do it effectively.
Just ask the Chinese what happened to their citizens

They don't know what they are doing.

If they did, they would do something different than going against the economic power of the region.

Nigeria can decide to call their bluffs and retaliate heavily.
Who do you think will win?
If you remove those petty traders, what else do you have up your sleeves?

Your own government is appealing for caution because they know what is up, but nationalistic nitwits wants to ruin everything.

The last thing the Ghanian government will do is to officially close down Nigerian businesses with this border closure in mind. The government may support the GUTA but will not dare take action.

Nigeria economy might be quite big but it is not a successful one. the Ghana president was once a former minister of foreing affairs and therefore understand regional cooperation and diplomatic ties . he is not conservative individual. Ghana will not retaliate that I assure.

But Nigeria economy can't actually paralysed Ghana economy , it's crucial commodity are not traded within ecowas.

What is this clown saying?
His can an economy be big and not successful?
Nigeria is producing more start ups than any country in Africa because of our economy.

More than east, central or west Africa combined.

The bulk of your education revenue come from misguided Nigerians schooling there who are exploited and billed for shitty education.

Our banks are your biggest banks employing thousands of your ungrateful people and introducing technological solutions as soon as they are integrated in Nigeria.
Many of your west african neighbours can't even transfer money electronically in real time.
From your entertainment to your financial sector to even energy, Nigerian investment runs through.
The biggest and possibly only real cinema in Ghana is Nigerian- Silver bird cinemas.
Nigeria has successfully modernized your country.
I don't know what made you deserve it. Possibly because you are the nearest anglophone country geographically to Nigeria.

Those investments can flow out just the same way it came in

Your government knows it. GUTA and other Ghanian illiterates don't know it.
