These are power ladies, in the sense that they are achievers and consequently influencers of public opinion.

In this time and age in our country’s history these ladies can make a difference with their collective voices.

In a male dominated industry these collected Nigerian female singers stand shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts .

Receiving the same recognition and opportunity to reach the very height of their dreams.

1. Asa

Nigerian female singers

This lady is a special breed. She carries herself through her nostalgic voice like someone with a message from the Oracle.

2. Simi

Nigerian female singers

When i first heard her voice, i knew she was sent to melt our hearts with her soft love stories. She started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju.

But somewhere, somehow decided that telling us love stories was better than pouring worship rendition to the most high through church songs alone. I guess she realized that it is through the human emotion of love that one can really touch the heart of God.

Now she is pouring those Afro-Pop love songs and we just cant get enough. Simi is a blessing to the Nigerian Music Industry.

3. Tiwa Savage

She is the most famous of them all. Not because she is the most talented but simply because she is fortunate to have the right connect and the right singles that a lot of Nigerians can relate to.

She started with some of the big male names that we have today under the same Record Label and so shared with them success of that period.

Her debut studio album Once Upon a Time was released on 3 July 2013.

4. Yemi Alade

Of all the Nigerian Female Singers Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage are the only ones that seem to carry a silent rivalry. One trying to outdo the other on that race for the crown of Queen Of The Dance Hall.

But Yemi Alade is more consistent when it comes to pouring out constant dance hall tunes. Obviously all of her songs were primarily designed to make people dance.

But that does not mean she is the person to wear the crown because Tiwa Savage is known for quality over quantity and is responsible for many dance hall national anthems in the country.
