It can't be removed. Doing so is kicking out democracy and if there is any chamber of the senate that is to go, it will be the green chamber but what you can do is vote the right people into the senate.

This is another bill to protect their loot and cover their corrupt tendencies. They want to be judges in their own case. They are gradually deviating from legislating to executing and managing projects which are the core duties of the executive arm of govt. That is why they are also proposing the anti-social media bill which will make people keep quiet even in the midst of obvious corruption.

They are not covering any corrupt practices.
Before now, ministries are in charge of awarding projects under the constituency projects
so you can accuse any senator of corruption in that regard.

If this new bill is passed, the senate can be accused of corruption since they will now be in charge
of awarding and executing the projects.

Before you reply, receiving salary and allowance is not "corruption" even if you think it is too high.

Why should a senator be building schools or water projects. What happened to the governor and local govt chairman. Even the federal government.

Hmmm. Nigerians and the lack of insight again. The hate towards the national assembly can't allow people to see the purpose of the post which is the executive are the real threat. The post just told us that the Executives are the one actually executing the funds and executing the projects. So all those boreholes, radios, wheelbarrows, shoe shining kits etc are actually from the executives. They don't even have a say in what's gets done. They have to deal with what the executives can afford.

If anything, instead of scrapping legislature, I think power should shift from the executives to the legislative. Countries where parliamentary government operates tends to be better of than the presidential systems. Decisions are slow but the progress gradually. Executive is for a country where people have learnt their lessons and are willing to put their country first.

Instead of focusing on their primary assignment which is law making. This will lead to divided attention and interest. I am of the opinion that Mr president should not sign it.

I thought they argued that an Apc Senate president and majority will be good for Buhari's administration.

I agree the executive should utilize the funds and it should be scrapped completely from the legislative budget. It's not thier concern. They should make laws and ensure that the laws and any funds released for anything is well utilized.

But that's the point. It's the executives that has been handling constituency projects not the legislation going by the post.

Trust Buhari nah, he will never sign such a bill. It's not going to be the first term that Buhari will be rejecting bills.

I am sure they are not preparing thos bill for Buhari because I am sure he will not accent to it even in his grave. Maybe, they are waiting on when a corrupt PDP candidate will become president again but definitely not Buhari.

None of them has talked about the amendment of the electoral bill. They will wait until elections is by the corner, then start making noise. Then tomorrow people will say Buhari is the problem of this country
