The Nigerian Army troops deployed at Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno has subdued Boko Haram terrorists and rescued an Octogenarian, three women and four children held captives by the insurgents. The Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, Col. Aminu Iliyasu, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. Iliyasu said that the rescued victims were evacuated while the children among them were equally administered with Polio Vaccination by a Nigerian Army medical team. He added that no causality was recorded by the army troops during the commando operations. According to him, many of the Boko Haram criminal elements fled in disarray towards the summit of Mandara Mountains with gunshot wounds. Read the full statement below; “In their reinvigorated drive to end the insurgency in the North East, Nigerian Army troops have continued to sustain the tempo of the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency operations in the North East with a view to decimating and destroying the remnant Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP) criminals across the Operation LAFIYA DOLE Theatre. https://twitter.com/HQNigerianArmy/status/1195933010266329088?s=19 https://punchng.com/boko-haram-troops-rescue-octogenarian-others-in-borno/amp/ 3 Likes 1 Share

Kudos to the Nigerian Army for the rescue. Their efforts will never be in vain if the federal government supplies them with the necessary equipment to smoke out the Boko Haram insurgency. 6 Likes |

The Nigerian army have been so politicised, since when did the army start to broadcast their operational successes. You see, if we as a people cannot know when we are been deceived and when we are been told the truth so long shall this thing continue. This government is built on scam and that is their thrust. SCAM to rig election, SCAM to keep up with the election and SCAM all the way. 1 Like |

Our officers and men of the Armed Forces as well as personnel of the JTF and CJTF are brave men and women who put their bodies as the last line of defence that our nation Nigeria and it’s people will once again be free from the evil terrorists and their masters. May God strengthen them and grant peace to the souls of the departed officers and men who have fallen in the line of duty. May their families be consoled as well. Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria! Priscy01: |
