1.Here is a secret, even when Nigeria wins the U17 world cup, it does not mean that we have a good setup youthwise.

The truth is, we don't have enough youth coaches, enough age-grade level teams and tournaments, and school sports is awful in this country. When we win global tournaments, it's covering a lot of cracks. And if we don't fix those cracks, ......

2.This Nigerian squad was not overaged. FIFA has seen to that.

3.Also playing U17 football, anywhere in the world, does not = a glittering football career. A lot of people like to talk about how the 1985 u17 squad did not do well enough. The thing is, the German squad we beat in the final...many of their players did not make it either.

In 2001, we were beaten by France in the U17 final. Of that french squad, there were two players...Le Tallec and Sinama Pognolle. Both of them made little to no impact on the French senior level. ....as did most of their teammates.

By contrast, we had Sunday Oliseh, who ended up playing ten years for Nigeria...and who never played at youth level for Nigeria..or any other country. Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney never played at youth level for England.

That was the Portugal 89 U20 squad..their golden generation..who won the U21 cup (beating Nigeria in the final with players like Ohenhen, Elijah, Lawal, and Ugbade...).....who went on to fizzle out at senior level for the national team. (though Figo and rui costa went on to become established legends in their own right).

Winning U17 and U20 is fantastic...but at the end of the day, it's structures that matter. Germany and France who won the world cup in 2014 and 18 respectively have good youth training setups naitonwide.

Brazil has good youth setups. Many of their big clubs have youth squads and there are many training schools there...more than Nigeria.

Plus football is an obsession in Brazil. More so than Nigeria.

Are you judging intent or the actual foul?
Looking at it from a practical point of view,that contact(if any) was way too slight to cause any disruption to the Brazilian player.
It was a very soft peno,it wouldn't have gone to Mexico if Brazil committed it. It was the circumstances that gave it.
