This apps are not developed by outsourcing rather the companies have in house developers that work full time for them.

If you are planning to develop something like that I would suggest you hire full time devs as that would be more cost efficient and also better on the long run

Thanks for your input bro....im actually planning to outsource to cut cost...the project I'm embarking on its experimental and complex,it might take months if i outsource to get it done,i would have them sign sign refund agreement if they later couldn't get it right...of course they would still have like 20% with them as they wouldn't sign %100 refund agreement....

My fear is if i employ full time programmers and at the end they couldn't pull the project off, that would be total loss on my side.....i have about 2million budgeted for the app/site alone....

Please i don't know how to go about this...i have met many wanna be programming companies, but they are just too way below my standards cry

guy paystack was outsourced, if you read their interview with Y-Combinator (startup investment company), shola the CEO, said he outsourced and paid off the developer that built paystack.

so O.P you can outsource your project it doesn't matter, let the company grow and then you can think of hiring developers to work full time with you.

Just look for someone that knows his onion, I would have helped if i wasn't so busy, and why did you ask for companies like Google, I don't think they build apps for other people

At first you might need a team of experienced developers who would work as freelancers for your project, but the thing is, the price they'd charge is dependent on the complexity of your project...maybe you're thinking its complex just because of your little to no experience in programming related stuffs or just maybe it is more complex that you actually think it is, either way I can help you out, so you won't have to deal with overpriced cost of development.

I'm not saying I'll develop your idea for you, nope.
Re: Is There Any Big Programming Companies Like Google In Nigeria?? by makavele: 5:03pm On Nov 30, 2019
honest advice coming in real quick . .

1. the complexity of any project shall only be determined by the engineers, the scrum masters and tech leads (whom of course were once engineers too). You could argue back and forth over it ( especially if you wanna save money ) but at the end of the day; engineers have more hindsight and will be the ones in charges . . so you get a fair pricing, at least for the not-so-greedy-ones.

2. u're gonna get trash built in the long run, cos i guarantee you there are 10 million people ready to accept 100k to have that built; and they know nothing about system designs for such apps. which brings us to 3:

3. ask whomsoever is ready to take up the project for a thorough system design and flow chart. if they've done it before, they should be able to send it in minutes, if they have not, but know their owns, send it in one day . . if they're dumb, you'll get rubbish . . even you without engineering eyes would see the through it.

4. then ask them to provide a solution that scales that design rapidly in seconds . .

5. look for a seasoned CTO to help you drill them during the negotiation or interview ( you might pay this person ) and make sure he's not gonna betray you.

6. when you're here, you would have filtered 99% of the fakes.

7. payments should be done in milestones, finish one milestone get paid . . . money is held centrally for all to see . .
if the milestone is way below standard (which should not be if you followed 1 - 6 thoroughly); then eject them from the contract . . . immediately

8. or skip the hassle and look for seasoned IT firms, and be ready to budget 10m and above

good luck

Shola is a programmer , he did most of the MVP with Ezra who he built a document sharing app before paystack. .
Paystack programming was never outsourced for one day.

Bro check this out, and skim to the part where they asked if any of his code was written by someone who wasn't a founder.

It's not a crime to be a programmer and still outsource your projects, not everyone knows it all, if you read that article, you'll find out when Ezra even became a co-founder, initially he wasn't.

@OP what Makavele said is spot on.

I know a lot of people here in Nigeria think Outsourcing is expensive or means you as a business person do not know what you're doing. That is False. You can outsource about anything, even your "entire engineering team" can be outsourced if you have other pressing business concern that needs to be covered. To keep this answer short, you may reference this article i wrote on Medim about When and Why you should outsource your business's software development here: https://medium.com/@olamigokayphils/when-or-why-should-you-outsource-software-development-4f5c8c3c097b

Ancla Technologies (https://anclatechs.com) is a registered organization in Nigeria that can help you with effective outsourcing of your IT department/ some functions.

Concession: (I am a partner at AnclaTechs. we do exactly what you are looking for: Software Development, IT outsourcing, IT consulting and advisory)

LOL....you have 2 million naira to develop something similar to paystack/piggybank (which includes website/API and mobile app) and you believe the "wanna be programming companies" are below ya standards?, they are actually what you can afford. A very good mobile app company like yalantis will collect $5, 000+ for just the mobile app (ios/android).....thus outsourcing is way above you except you wanna give some whack foreign programmer that will do shitt for you.

Get a locally sourced nigerian freelance programmer, following @makavele filtering process and used the milestone way of payment as stated
