The Kano State House of Assembly today passed the controversial Kano Emirates Council Bill 2019, which seeks to create four additional emirates in the state.

Under the newly passed Kano Emirates Bill;

1. The Governor has the Right to appoint Kingmakers & Emir himself.

2. The Governor must approve Emirates’ Budget.

3.The Emirs can be downgraded by the Governor.

4. The Emir may be sacked If he fails to attend 3 meetings of Kano State Council of Chiefs.
