BREAKING: US Department Of State Condemns Sowore's Rearrest by Nobody: 12:48pm On Dec 08, 2019 |
The United States Department of State has condemned the rearrest of pro-democracy campaigner and journalist, Omoyele Sowore, at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday barely 24 hours after he was released on bail after four months in the detention of Department of State Services. Sowore was first arrested on August 3, 2019 by the DSS for calling on Nigerians to pour out to the streets in peaceful demonstrations to demand a better country from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. In a post on Twitter on Sunday, the State Department tweeting @StateDRL, said, "We are deeply concerned that #Sowore has been re-detained in #Nigeria shortly after a court ordered he be released on bail. "Respect for rule of law, judicial independence, political and media freedom, and due process are key tenets of #democracy." We are deeply concerned that #Sowore has been re-detained in #Nigeria, shortly after a court ordered he be released on bail. Respect for rule of law, judicial independence, political and media freedom, and due process are key tenets of #democracy. The US State Department's position follows similar condemnation by top American lawmakers like Cory Booker and Bob Menendez, who both called for the respect of Sowore's rights and his immediate release. http://saharareporters.com/2019/12/08/breaking-us-department-state-condemns-sowores-rearrest 1 Like

The world is watching Mr Buhari. Don't think you can do whatever you like and nobody will blink an eye. Be careful how you mess with the democracy that you played zero part in achieving in Nigeria. People paid with their lives to achieve this democracy and we are not going to allow one grandfather to destroy it Once again the world is watching. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Condemning is not enough......Ban the useless Aboki & his family from stepping out of Nigeria irrespective of medical reasons or not, Ban all DSS mofo & Nigerian Military from any form of arms purchase, training, skills & knowledge transfer, freeze Buhari & associate's foreign account....... freeze all USAID support to NE & Nigeria as a whole, place Ban on crude sales from Nigeria.....let's see if the useless Aboki will survive... 3 Likes 2 Shares |

According to some people on social media, DSS are now courts on their own. They claim DSS had every right to re-arrest Sowore in the court premises because the DSS claimed he breached bail conditions. Yet, the DSS couldn't tender this to the court through their attorneys. This is the same DSS that claimed no one came to receive Sowore when the court granted Sowore bail. 3 Likes |

Tookool:There's this law passed to target politicians (not the whole country) in Russia and Iran that as now been stylishly extended to countries like Nigeria. >Personal account in dollars are frozen >Visa ban >Business interests are targeted The tool if exploited by the AMERICANS should have a devastating effect on the Elites that are supporting whatever is going on in Nigeria today. 3 Likes |

Iamgrey5:All the loots of Buhari and his cronies are kept abroad in western countries and tax havens in the Caribbean. When they get sick to they fly to UK,Germany,Switzerland,USA and Canada. All their children school UK,Australia,Switzerland and USA and Canada and are lavishing the nations loot in those countries. They spend their vacation enjoying their loot in Italy,Monaco,France,UK,USA,Australia etc. You will see the reach they have if they decide to act. |

It's wonderful that the dullard keep scoring own goal left, right and centre. Buhari thinks his alliance with China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Bishop of Canterbury will save him if US remembers his case. We will never have it this bad. 3 Likes 1 Share |
