johnjay4u2u:National grid phase shouldn't be an excuse for incompetency on the part of Federal government not given Nigerians 24hrs electricity after billions has been sunk into it. Power Ministry is just another conduit pipe used in milking the treasury and nothing more. |

It will be a wise idea for the university to liaison with high-tech companies to set up shop on campus. Maybe a research center where products can be invented etc. I am also sure the power will be cheap. 24-hour power supply is something that shouldn't be taken for granted. |

deepwater: I totally concur. Two months ago I came to Europe, and snapped a picture with the same phone that I had been using in Nigeria, the same day I got to Germany. When this picture landed on my profile many people have been commending me for looking so fresh and all. Honestly, I am still look for an acceptable explanation for this phenomenon. It is either the light over here, or something. |

Covenant University exited 20 years ago. They did not announce the exit. |

AmeLonRo: Maybe because they didn't really exit. They're burning gas for power .. maybe they get the gas at subsidized rate. I expect Unilag to do also explore that route soon too as the school is close to water and can also get gas piped down to them |

The project is actually a Federal Government initiative and it is being carried out in about 6 federal Tertiary institutions spread across the geo-political zone. OAU happens to be the one that would first reach completion of the project. 2 Likes |
