This story has become a political mess. Nigerians are just shaming themselves up and down the world. These guys must have been asked by the police where did they get the money from or how did they get the money are they could not explain it. Even I have been stopped and search by British police I had 150 pounds in my wallet and the police asked us where did we get the money most people do not carry money on them. I think these guys are just to play even the guide which was supposed to be with them was nowhere to be seen if you go to a country for a tournament you supposed to have a guide or a leader which will guide you around that person suddenly disappeared after the tournament. What is happening these two people were abandoned by their country and by their nation and it is the police receive them by arresting them. When they were asked where did they get the money from they could not prove it

My friend there is a lot of things which are not known in this situation. If you are on Transit is it legal to leave the airport without guide or escort. For what I know if you are on Transit you cannot go everywhere and you cannot leave some imports more than 10 kilometres away. I found out this the hard way in Ethiopia when I travel to eat with Ethiopian airline. Most of these guys do not know the laws of the countries which they are visiting also it is the same in Yugoslavia. If you are on Transit you can leave the airport but there are areas you cannot go to. In fact you have to be back to the airport within 3 hours and you cannot stay far away from the airport it is in Legal offence. In Yugoslavia I was told my visa is transit and I cannot leave the hotel I will be arrested at any time

What of their tournament ID cards?

Besides, who goes looking around in a country where you do not speak the language? In Eastern Europe for that matter, a country where the hatred of even their own neighbours (serbs and Bosnian muslims) runs very deep?

People should learn to be sensible.

Exactly it has nothing to do with them being Nigerians. Yet the Nigerians failed to produce their visa papers or the story doesn't mention whether they had their proper visa papers in their wallets. Never travel in a foreign nation where you don't speak or write their language without proper documentation from their government.
