I miss the days

When goodness really did pay

I miss the smiles of childhood

Where eating and sleeping were all all we could

I miss Mama's warmth

Those smiles even when she looked gaunt

I miss the stress-free life

Where we had love, no strife

I miss sleeping away my fears

I miss laughing away my tears

I miss laughing away my sorrows

I miss those smiles in the midst of my furrows

I miss my favorite literature

The good old mother nature

Rivers don't flow in Reverse

And so I have to forget these moments

I'll prefer to call them moments of silence

Because I'm now in a state of ambivalence

For they said joy comes in the morning

It's morning and yet we're still mourning

I miss the airways

I miss the birthdays

I miss the chambrays

I miss the chardonnays

I can only sit back and reflect on these childhood moments even though sometimes I wish I was a time Traveller

But then,

I miss the days..............................
