To be fair, it's not just the police. It's a Nigerian thing to prejudge based on appearance. Most of us Nigerians are guilty of it mostly because of religion and tradition. We look at people and immediately assume they are good or bad based on their looks.

Truth be told, In Nigeria, most criminals have certain attributes that make them easily identifiable in the public and these attributes which are usually based on appearance are what Security officers tend to consider when observing people on the road which is not so in US because such way of dressing is completely normal to them.
