If you play the instruments in church and you collect money, you are a thief,” these were the words of founder and leader of leader of Kharis Church in the United Kingdom, Pastor David Antwi.

Pastor David Antwi has stated during a church service that anyone who plays the instrument in the Church and take money is a thief; “Satan’s cousin.”

You’re a thief if you play church instrument and collect money - Pastor David Antwi

Antwi called all the instrumentalists in his church to the front of the congregation and told them that:

“You Are A Thief If You Play Church Instruments and Collect Money.”

Pastor David Antwi’s assertion has garnered several reactions on the internet, majorly negative comment with some questioning where this was stated in the bible and a few also questioning his calling.

Many are of the opinion that instrumentalists or musicians working in the church should be paid for their skills

Pastors should stop talking like this nah.

Did they train the instrumentalists with their money....

People should stop taking advantage of people with skills in the name of religion.

Robbery is a concept where you expect to get for free what you should pay for.... But many call it grace.

If they are not members of the church and if they were invited, u have to pay them as professional. Playing instrument is someone's careers and they making a living from there. Don't forget they also have dependants

This is the problem with most of our present day minister. They don't balance the teaching. What if playing instruments is what the said person lives by, you have to pay him. But if he has a job and just plays it as part of his contribution of service, then he doesn't have to be paid. But if he is invited to another ministry, he has to be paid. This is the simple truth.
