So anybody that went to the forest will now turn to rascal abi? No wonder the whites are tagging us animals. Someone who is meant to protect you are the ones causing nuisance on the road.

The only people that block roads are criminals, such as armed robbers or kidnappers

I will give you an answer when you go sambissa come back.

If you are planning to join the Nigerian Army and you will like to know how much they earn, it is important you read and share this post with friends and family.

When you take a look at the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigerian Army is the largest component. They help to defend, protect, and honor Nigeria.

Joining the Nigerian Army is not as easy as you think and is like not the ordinary job out there because while everybody is sleeping and enjoying themselves, an average Nigerian Soldier is out there in the Sambisa Forest fighting Boko Haram.

With this Kind of job one expects that an average soldier to be earning big but the case is not like that.

So with the danger and lot of inconveniences associated with the job, how much do you think an average Nigerian soldier earns?

Below is the new salary structure for non-commissioned officers in the Nigerian Army.

.After the increase, a private Soldier now earns about N48,000-N49,000

. A Lance Corporal Salary is about N54,000-N55,000
. A Corporal new salary is N58,000

. A Sergeant in the Nigerian Army earns about N63,000

. Staff Sergeant earns N68,000

. Warrant Officer earns N80,000

. Master Warrant Officer earns N90,000

For Commissioned Officers in the Nigerian Army, below are the ranks and how much they earn

. A Second Lieutenant earns about N120,000

. A Lieutenant in the Nigerian army collects about N180,000

. For a Captain in the Nigerian army, the new salary is N220,000

. The new salary of a Major in the Nigerian army is N300,000

. A Lt. Colonel collects about N350,000
. A Colonel earns N550,000

. Brigadier General's new salary structure is N750,000
. A Major General earns about N950,000

. Lt. General in the Nigerian army earns around N1 million

.Finally the new salary structure for a General is abut N1.5 million

What do you think about this new salary structure? Do you think it is worth the nature of this job compare to what our politicians earn? Don't forget to share with people that will need this information.

I strongly doubt this information. Even the Nigerian police starting from the lowest to the highest ranks earn more. We need to check ourselves.

Cheers

First of all, I don't think most of the people I know that joined the army did so because of the money.

Then secondly, you are only speculating.

Finally, you failed to mention whether those amounts you mentioned were per annum or monthly take home pay but whatever be the case, assuming you were referring to monthly take home pay, I still don't think the figures you mentioned is all that bad.

This new salary regime is shockingly poor. How can they manage life with such pay and how can the much needed motivation and morale in action especially those fighting Boko Haram be got. Government should pay the least member of the armed forces and police N100000.

Even more, but sadly.... cry cry

please always endeavor to research very well before posting anything on this forum. I am a soldier. Those figures, though close but are incorrect. From private to Sgt are correct but from staff Sgt to MWO are incorrect. Then from 2lieutnant to general are correct. Though all the figures posted are old salaries. The new minimum wage is yet to take effect
you are a useless soldier. how much is the new minimum wage? may be you are in pay office where your stealing money or you are working in pensioned board where you steal your dead colleagues money.
you dont care how your colleagues who are in the bush feeding their family.
with that kind of money you are still expected to buy boot, uniform, pay school fees, transport yourself etc. and you are here saying rubbish.
they decieved us that they are going to pay arears.Did they pay you one kobo? you are one of the bad eggs we have in the military.

Army work is like civil service, though tougher. I agree with you that the job isn't easy but the pay is okay.

If proper reforms were in place, the living conditions you're talking about wouldn't arise.

A higher pay won't eliminate those problems, rather it will raise more concerns about pay parity and Nigeria can't afford that now.

Let them solve their internal issues, visit navy quarters/bases they're very neat, let other follow suit. Maintenance and hygiene is an internal problem

A lot of people on NL knows nothing about the military and they keep saying all sort of trash about them. Before Buhari won his first term election, we thought he would restore a lot of things back into the military because he knows in and out but unfortunately, he failed us.
Anyway, a Major General salary is 1.2 million even after retirement. That's why a lot of senior military officer wants to retire as a 2star General

The money is big as they climb the ladder, you don't expect them to get high pay at the lowest level if not government will crash and you know they are not revenue generating agency.
