What is the house of God? In theology there is something called the law of first mention. According to the law of first mention, a concept in the Bible is defined based on the first time it is mentioned in the Bible. So let's look at the first time the "house of God" was mentioned in the Bible.

"Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. He was afraid and said,... When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” How awesome is this place! The first time the house of God was mentioned in the Bible it was called, "the gate of heaven", and angels where found descending and ascending a stairway. Therefore, based on the law of first mention the house of God is defined as the gate of heaven where angels are descending and ascending. It is a highway, a traffic point between heaven and earth. Let's also look at what the New Testament says about the house of God.

"The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man," (Acts 17:24).
"For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building... Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?" (1Cor 3:9,16).

The word temple there refers to the house of God. Jacob saw a place on earth where the gate of heaven is and where angels were descending and ascending, and he called it the house of God. Now the New Testament is saying the house of God is not a physical place or building but you (the believer). Yes, you are the house of God, you are the gate of heaven where angels are descending and ascending. You are the highway, the traffic point where things on earth can access heaven, and the things in heaven can descend and find manifestation on earth.

When the things on earth touch you they are touching heaven, and when the things in heaven touch you they are able to find manifestation on earth. God needs the gate of heaven on earth, there is so much He wants to do, to manifest and give, but without a gate of heaven on earth He won't be able to do it. People in the world pray day and night, desiring a gate of heaven, an access point where the things they have been praying for will find access to the earth and reach them. You are to be the gate where the blessing of God is poured down and people prayers are answered.

People run to temples because they know they will reach God their and receive answers for their prayers. You are called to become that temple, that gateway, and God is willing to answer their prayers, it is now left for you to answer your calling, become the gateway, and release the answers to their prayers. Yes, angels are descending and ascending on you, the prayers of the nations reaches God through you, and the answers to these prayers are released through you.

You are the living gate and the stairway, everywhere you go heaven is released there, people want to have you close to them because they can feel the atmosphere of heaven pouring out through you. The moment they stand close to you, they are standing in the atmosphere of heaven, they could feel it, they know that this is heaven. That is why the sick ran to stand where Peter is passing so that as he passes by his presence will overshadow them and heal them. In heaven there is healing, joy, peace etc, and people can feel this whenever they are close to you, for you are that gate where the atmosphere of heaven is released. Oh believers, awake and be the gate that you are called to be, let the earth be filled with the gates of heaven.
