His point is that they should play politics that is outside their comfort zone. It is obvious that you can't be president of Nigeria without winning in other zones and how is that done? By going outside your zone to be appealing to others.

No one will vote for you because they feel it is your turn, it sounds good and "fair" but to be honest, it might not happen.

What happened in 1999 when only Yoruba Obasanjo and Falae were fielded by the two main parties?
Did Obasanjo who became president win his own Yoruba votes

The problem is that just like everything, politics evolve. You cannot expect that what happened in 1999 will happen again. If you are waiting for that, you might just seem unserious.

Can the SE with all confidence domain that the APC choose a candidate from the SE knowing fully well that the SE is APC weakest zone? If the APC does not see itself as strong enough in the SE, it makes no sense for anyone to call then out for not having a candidate from there. A scenario of 1999 will be implausible as even if the PDP decides to pick a SE candidate, the SW is not obligated to pick a candidate from where they are weakest

Why isn't anyone dragging the PDP to get a candidate from the SE? At least, the PDP is stronger in the SE than the NE.

Fact of the matter is that the issue of zoning the presidency came up after OBJ won his second term as the north became scared that the south may want to keep to power for a long time following the long stay of the northern military rulers. A gentleman agreement was reached in PDP and that was why only candidates from the NW went for the PDP primaries for the 2007 election. The idea was finally jettisoned by Igbo politicians because of GEJ in 2011

Alex Ekueme contested the PDP primaries in Jos and lost(due to Northern supportSW had), so its not like SE stepped down completely, they contest the 2003 primaries also an lost

An Igboman will never ever rule Nigeria. The other one we had in 1966 Major General Aguyi Ironsi promugated Decree 34 of 1966 and cancelled the regional governments for his own selfish reason. That is how Nigeria's reprogression started. Never ever will an Igboman rule Nigeria.

Who feeds you people with these lies and deceit. Did Alex Ekwueme not participate in PDP presidential primary in Jos 1999? If he had won the primary would he had not represented PDP in the main election? You talked as if the election was handed to the SW without any confrontation
